Find A Grave was very useful to me in my past family research, now it's time to give back to this site. Find A Grave is where we find and add our memorials to our friends and relatives. It's wonderful to have this place where we are able to see the headstone, maybe their picture, and add their life story, and link them to their parents, spouse and children. It broke my heart to find someone dear to me here, after visiting the grave for such a long time and running out of conversation with the headstone, so began the taking of pictures of the markers next to the grave. If you stand at the grave, name all the children on the stone, and tell them what the grandchildren have been up to lately, you get to the sad part of the grandchildren they never got to know. Should our grandchildren ever want to know where they came from this may be one place to look in the future. If there is a memorial added and it is your friend or relative my loved ones are probably near by. It is surprising how many contact me about the names that have been added with more links and information. If you show interest in a name there will be more research done, so look again at it later. My renewed interest is in family history and plan to enter information mainly in the southwestern Idaho area. Will try to help you with requests, have been finding local obituaries and transcribing them from microfilm.
Please feel free to use the pictures, biographies, obituaries, etc. in any way that is helpful to you, and there is no need to give credit. Find A Grave scales down the pictures so click on them several times till they are as big as possible before saving.
RE: Northrop Thank yo so much. I will look into doing that. I have already managed to find other connections confirming that some of the information I had been given was incorrect, sadly. So glad you and others are making sure this information is out there for people like me who would have not found my ancestors so quickly otherwise. Grateful!
Ada L Stephens Hi Dan, I came across one of your posts regarding Ada Lillian Stephens. Do you have any further information (or tips for locating information) on her last known spouse, William D. Stephens? I believe this is my great-grandfather whom I have been unable to find much information about. I'd appreciate any guidance you may be able to provide. (And if not, thank you for your posts. They have been helpful thus far!)
Rollie Anderson; Ethel Leona Northrop; Eva Marie Northrop, Albert B. Northrop (Northrup) Dan, I have recently discovered that my Great grandfather was Rollie Anderson, the father of Ethel, Eva, and Albert B. Northrop, my grandfather. My mother, Maxine Marie (married Clifford Wayne Watson), was the oldest of Albert's children. The problem I have found in researching my family history is locating any information on my mother's mother. I believe her last name was O'hare, but honestly don't know how reliable that information is, as she passed away due to complications suffered during my mother's birth. I am hopeful that you, or someone seeing this, may have some information to aid me in my search. My mother has been deceased since 1984 and my 3 sisters and I have no one to reach out to that may be able to provide us with answers. Hoping this reaches someone who knows. Thank you for making sure this part of my family was able to be located.
Sadly I do not. I read all obituaries in newspapers that are on file on microfilm at the Mount Carmel Public Library in Pennsylvania. If you contact them, they should be able to research the date of publication in one of the papers listed on my profile page. I just want to warn you that I am giving up management of all my memorials and any more corrections may not reach me. Sincerely, Bob Miller
RE: Clarissa Emma Fowler Thank you for that information, Dan! Yes, I'm aware of the Weiser plots ... my dad was born in Weiser and I've been wanting to go there for some time to actually see the cemetery and area.
I was able to make corrections from your dates, however I know that Arthur T (not Arthur L) Brown was born in 1851.
I found an interesting article about the Fowler family reunion of 1903 on Ancestry.
Fowler Hi Dan, Thank you for the tip about Lawrence Stover's birth year. I noticed your last name Fowler and wonder if there might be a connection with my great-great grandmother Clarissa Emma Fowler who married Lucian Meigs Brown, the Brown's son Arthur ended up in Idaho where you apparently are. Two of his daughters married into the Stover family, and hence my connections.
