You are very welcome for the additions I made to the Patterson memorials.
By the way, I found most of your father's siblings already listed on Find A Grave at Cold Water Cemetery. I wrote to the owners of those memorials and asked them to link the Pattersons to their parents, John McAllister Patterson, and his wife, Margaret.
I linked your father to his parents, and my friend, Debbie Walus, has already linked your aunt (Margaret Hume) as well. The person who controls the other two memorials is a bit slow in adding family connections, but hopefully will get to it in the next few weeks or so.
If you come across any errors--large or small--in my work, please be sure to let me know so that I can correct them. Also, if you have any additional information you would like added, just let me know.
If you need help with adding photos or anything else connected to Find A Grave, don't hesitate to ask.
Thank you for your nice note. It makes all the hours of hard work worth it to know that I have been able to assist you in your genealogical research.
I know what you mean about someone being "alone" and not linked to family. It's important to me to add as many family links and stories as possible.
Find A Grave doesn't really have an easy way to link grandparents and grandchildren directly. However, if you give me the names of the people you would like linked, I can add the information to their bios. It won't make a direct, one click link like from parent to child, but it will make the information available to others who might be interested.
Please go to either the grandparent's or grandchild's memorial. Click on the Edit tab. Note the name and Find A Grave number of the person you would like linked to them, and I will take care of it from there.
For example, if you wanted to link Joan Smith to her grandparents Bob and Mary, you would go to Joan Smith's memorial. Click the edit tab. Write the following: Joan Smith is the granddaughter of Bob Smith #18779875 and Mary Jones Smith #91768443. Click send.
If the person who is the biological link between the two is still alive, I can put that info in the bios if you would like. If the living link were named John Smith, for example, I would refer to him as (Living) Smith in the bio to protect his privacy.
If you have additional information for anyone at Salem, please feel free to share it with me via the Edit tab on any of my memorials. If you have a photograph of a family member or friend, you can add those to the memorial yourself.
Let me know if you have any questions or if I have made this too confusing. I'm always happy to help!
