I'm a family man and web programmer, who has recently assumed the role of family historian from my mother.
I am active on Ancestry.com, and I used Findagrave, com to help in my research.
The memorials in Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN (except Charles and Elsie Slocum) are random headstones I photographed while my buddy was taking requested headstones. If you want one transferred to you, just let me know.
The families I'm most interested are in my Virtual Graveyard.
Find A Grave Changes A friend told me about this change a couple days after this was deployed. I have sent an edit/s to you so I thought maybe you didn't know about it. You might want to pass it on to your friends. thanks!!! ~Peggy ==========================
New "Automated" system for "Suggest a Correction/Submit an Edit"
******Please Note****** New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013
Go to your Contributor/Profile page. Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you. Then just review and accept.
Way easier for doing updates to names/dates/places/plot numbers/links. If you don't approve within 21 days it will automatically accept it.
You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section.
Hi: I think we have been in contact in the past about our common ancestor Benjamin Adamson. I recently discovered the diaries of his wife Sarah. I saw a query of yours asking about the diaries. Did you get any results? I know where the diaries are and was told that they are not digitized. Also, there is a transcription of part of the diary that can be purchased. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help me out with any of this info.
My name is Shirley Copeland Hudson, I have a tree on Ancestry (Copeland/Adamson) and Family Search.
My question may be answered after reading your blog.
Thanks for any help.
Also, do I need permission to add photos to my tree from another persons Find a Grave or tree?
Claude & Dorothy Sherman I was told at the cemetery office that they were both located in Lot 1 of Sequoia Plot, but there is only a marker for Claude. I think they are in the same grave, and her name was not inscribed on the stone, but I think you would have to call the cemetery to confirm that.
photo permission Brett Slocum May I please have permission to use a copy of your photo of the grave marker for Benjamin Adamson Find A Grave Memorial# 57560849 and Sarah Adamson Find A Grave Memorial# 57616179 for use in our Family genealogy tree? thank you, Maureen O'Connor Hale
Lola Powell I will be happy to get your photo at Fairmount-Willow Hills Cemetery if you can contact the cemetery for her location. There are well over 100 requests pending right now and I'd like to work on getting the oldest ones done. Thanks so much...
