Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy researching my own families as well as helping others research theirs. My own family includes Stephens/Stevens, Ferrell, Christenbury, Ross, Smith, House, Richardson, Broom, Starns, Black, McCall, Elrod, Cartee-Mostly from Charlotte and the surrounding area. Ross' are from South Carolina. The Smiths, Elrods and Cartees are from Anderson, SC. My grandmother, Charlene Dumont, was from Belgium.

Transferring memorials...
I am very happy to do it. It makes me happy when someone in my memorials is found by a family member. I am also happy to transfer any memorial of someone who is of special interest to you whether you are related or not, as long as your intentions fall within FAG guidelines AND you plan to work with the memorial. If you don't plan to do anything with it, then there is no need for a transfer.
I WILL NOT TRANSFER FAMILY, I do not mind at all if you ask, but please don't be angry if I decline, as I likely will no matter how I am related. I have worked very hard on many of these memorials and I am always going back to research different family members and trying to add new information. So, I consider these memorials MINE. I am open to adding any information you have and I encourage photos, as long as they are accurate and within FAG guidelines.

My favorite contribution to this site is adding photos to memorials that do not have them. Most of my memorials come from the random pictures I take at cemeteries. I try to find some sort of information to add to every memorial I create. If I create a duplicate, just let me know and I will delete it and offer any information and photos to the original memorial.

I am noticing more and more contributors who send edit requests and messages who have no way to be contacted in return. If I can't confirm your request, I will simply "decline" it. So, if you receive a "decline", or see no change per your request, perhaps it was because I had no way to contact you to ask for sources.

Please, be nice:-)
I will likely ignore bully demands and opinions. Making a suggestion is one thing, badgering someone to do things your way is completely different.

Adding grave photos...
I appreciate very much when someone adds a grave photo to my memorials that do not have them, but if a memorial already has a perfectly good grave photo, please do not add another simply because you have it. This is a chance we take when we walk randomly around cemeteries taking pictures. I happens to me all the time.
Keep in mind that only 5 photos can be added to a memorial without sponsorship. I would rather save that space for family to add personal photos, and every memorial I create is with hope that a family member will find it.

**Please, when you can, take a minute to clean off grave markers covered in dirt or grass so that they are not buried forever:-)

RE: 111267874 Abernethy
My great grandmother Lillian Elizabeth Abernathy Simpson (also buried at Pleasant Grove) was a historian. I have her books in hand that detail how Laura Jane Abernathy was born March 12 1875 and died March 25 1890. Quote from the page: "she is buried at Pleasant Grove cemetery next to our great grandmother Rachel Hinkle". If you send me a email address I have a copy of the page scanned out of this book.

RE: William Orr
Hi -- I'm a third cousin 3X removed! We share common ancestry -- back to James Orr through his son Silas Gilbright Orr. The Orrs are one of the families I focus on. Are you related?

William S Orr
Thank you for your message regarding William S Orr. In fact, many of the Orrs -- both of his generation and the following and preceding generations -- were firemen, policemen, his father was deputy sheriff, his uncle an Assistant Chief of Police, another uncle was the first Chief of the Fire Department -- I have obituaries for all of them. I have focused my efforts on putting the information on my Orr family tree at Perhaps I will try to add the obituaries to Find A Grave as I have time. Thanks again.

John Fite
I checked my records and found only the names of John's parents. Nothing more about his mother. Sorry... Wish I could be of some help.

Thanks for adding the headstone photos. As for John Fite information... I don't think I have any more to add on him, but will check my records in the next couple of days and let you know.

Their suggestion:
I was wondering if you would consider transferring my great uncle to me.

Also, FYI, I noticed you have Duckworth in your list of families researching. I have several Duckworths in my memorials from the Charlotte area, in case you might be interested.

Thanks Tracy

Hi Cousin Tracy,

I am related to the Smith family of Anderson County and would prefer to maintain. I will gladly add any info you have and cite you as the source. Thank you for your work on F/G for our family.
