Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy researching my own families as well as helping others research theirs. My own family includes Stephens/Stevens, Ferrell, Christenbury, Ross, Smith, House, Richardson, Broom, Starns, Black, McCall, Elrod, Cartee-Mostly from Charlotte and the surrounding area. Ross' are from South Carolina. The Smiths, Elrods and Cartees are from Anderson, SC. My grandmother, Charlene Dumont, was from Belgium.

Transferring memorials...
I am very happy to do it. It makes me happy when someone in my memorials is found by a family member. I am also happy to transfer any memorial of someone who is of special interest to you whether you are related or not, as long as your intentions fall within FAG guidelines AND you plan to work with the memorial. If you don't plan to do anything with it, then there is no need for a transfer.
I WILL NOT TRANSFER FAMILY, I do not mind at all if you ask, but please don't be angry if I decline, as I likely will no matter how I am related. I have worked very hard on many of these memorials and I am always going back to research different family members and trying to add new information. So, I consider these memorials MINE. I am open to adding any information you have and I encourage photos, as long as they are accurate and within FAG guidelines.

My favorite contribution to this site is adding photos to memorials that do not have them. Most of my memorials come from the random pictures I take at cemeteries. I try to find some sort of information to add to every memorial I create. If I create a duplicate, just let me know and I will delete it and offer any information and photos to the original memorial.

I am noticing more and more contributors who send edit requests and messages who have no way to be contacted in return. If I can't confirm your request, I will simply "decline" it. So, if you receive a "decline", or see no change per your request, perhaps it was because I had no way to contact you to ask for sources.

Please, be nice:-)
I will likely ignore bully demands and opinions. Making a suggestion is one thing, badgering someone to do things your way is completely different.

Adding grave photos...
I appreciate very much when someone adds a grave photo to my memorials that do not have them, but if a memorial already has a perfectly good grave photo, please do not add another simply because you have it. This is a chance we take when we walk randomly around cemeteries taking pictures. I happens to me all the time.
Keep in mind that only 5 photos can be added to a memorial without sponsorship. I would rather save that space for family to add personal photos, and every memorial I create is with hope that a family member will find it.

**Please, when you can, take a minute to clean off grave markers covered in dirt or grass so that they are not buried forever:-)

There were no other Ivester's there and there was no marker for her husband. Sorry

((I am also a Stephens. Mine were in Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee))

RE: Wilburn Avery Nicholson, Sr
Sorry about that - I uploaded a picture of Wilburn Jr instead of Wilburn Sr. And didn't realize the mistake until I left the cemetery. I'll go back on Tuesday and look for the correct one.

Thank you for linking Faith Rollins to her father. Edwin's obit did not list his place of internment, but I will continue to seek this information. I was Edwin's secretary for many years, and am sure he would want to be linked to his daughter.

RE: Van Winder McGavock
Mary Ellen McGavock, daughter of Van Winder McGavock, Sr, was my grandmother. She lived at Carnton Plantation in her younger years. Several pieces of furniture displayed at Carnton now, were at her house when I was growing up. They were sent to Carnton in the 80's upon her death.

Anything you can find out would be appreciated.

Van Winder McGavock
I'll review the data on again and determine the correct father for Van Winder McGavock, Sr. Thanks for correcting this error.

RE: Francis Winnie Hobbs Wentz
Her husband is probably buried there also "Ira Branch Wentz" and neither may be marked. He died after the 1920 census but I didn't look or didn't find a death certificate for him.

Some cemeteries have who owned the lots and you can find where buried even if no marker...but they could be buried in a lot under one of their childrens names??
Thanks for your interest in checking.

I have her death certificate and it says she was buried in Pleasant Grove in Charlotte
If you will send your e-mail I can send this to you.
All the Pleasant Grove cemeteries in Mecklenburg Co. are all linked together.
I put her there because of the death certificate.
