I enjoy researching my own families as well as helping others research theirs. My own family includes Stephens/Stevens, Ferrell, Christenbury, Ross, Smith, House, Richardson, Broom, Starns, Black, McCall, Elrod, Cartee- Mostly from North and South Carolina.|
Adding grave photos...
I appreciate very much when someone adds a grave photo to my memorials that do not have them, but if a memorial already has a perfectly good, legible grave photo, please do not add another simply because you have it. This is a chance we take when we walk randomly around cemeteries taking pictures. I know...it happens to me all the time.
Keep in mind that only 5 photos can be added to a memorial without sponsorship. I would rather save that space for family to add personal photos, and every memorial I create is with hope that a family member will find it.
I am very happy to do it. It makes me happy when someone in my memorials is found by a family member. I am also happy to transfer any memorial of someone who is of special interest to you (in most cases) whether you are related or not, as long as your intentions fall within FAG guidelines AND you plan to work with the memorial. If you don't plan to work with it, then there is no need for a transfer.
I WILL NOT TRANSFER FAMILY, I do not mind at all if you ask, but please don't be angry if I decline, as I likely will no matter how I am related. I have worked very hard on many of these memorials and I am always going back to research different family members and trying to add new information. So, I consider these memorials MINE. I am open to adding any information you have and I encourage photos, as long as they are accurate and within FAG guidelines.
I am noticing more and more contributors who send edit requests and messages who have no way to be contacted in return. If I can't confirm your request with a quick search, I will simply "decline" it. So, if you receive a "decline", or see no change per your request, perhaps it was because I had no way to contact you to ask for sources. I feel that if you opt to receive no messages, then you shouldn't be able to send them, either.
Please, be nice:-)
I will likely ignore bully demands and opinions. Making a suggestion is one thing. Badgering someone to do things your way is completely different.
**Please, when you can, take a minute to clean off grave markers covered in dirt or grass so that they are not buried forever:-)

Thank you for your persistence. I tried calling the church office on Friday but got no answer. I'll try again tomorrow. (My motto is "never give up".) ;^)))

No, I don't know for sure exactly where he was buried, but I will make it a point to call the cemetery and perhaps they can/will give me a location. I'll let you know. THANKS, again. Don and I went all through school together. He was my first real "crush" in the 6th-7th grade. ;^))

Thank you so very much for trying to find his marker. I cannot understand it. But, I do appreciate your efforts.

I do not keep the pictures of graves once I have entered them. I usually check to make sure they have not been entered.
I not longer have a reason to return to Concord except on very rare occasions. Will try to remember next time I am there. We are getting a veterans marker for my Mother, so will be there sometime.

Terri, I linked him to the father Wm. but not to mother Fanny. Fanny is really a Burial Unknown and I don't link to Burial Unknowns. She is listed at Asbury but the contributor wrote on the memorial that she placed her there because she doesn't know where Fanny is buried. This is called "plopping" and I don't link to plops either, as they lead to duplicates. This is findagrave, not guessagrave. Hope you understand!
