My first years were spent in Buchanan and Russell counties of Virginia. Since November, 1958, I have lived in the Richmond, VA area. I retired after 33 years in USPS, 11 years as broiler grower and 16 years as a school bus driver.
My genealogy work started as a way to keep my father's mind occupied while he was in a nursing home. Until his death at 96 years, his memory of names and details of his former years in Southwest Virginia was almost total.
