Bio and Links
Bio Photo Forty some years ago I served in Vietnam and for whatever reason I now feel compelled to find photographs of all 87 men in my unit that were "killed in action". I still have about 17 men to locate and bring back home. We need not only to remember their names but also never forget their faces. If you are interested in these men and the unit in which they served then you can click on the link below:

RE: Calvin Binder
Hi David,

Sorry this took so long to reply but I only discovered your note this evening. To answer your question, yes it am a distant cousin. A few years ago when I was surfing for relatives I knew how distant but I've since forgotten. Calvin or Bill is buried in the same cemetery as my grandfather's older brother Christian.

As I remember from writing another distant cousin some years ago, Calvin was a helicopter pilot and was killed in country after only being there for only 30 or so days.

Recently I have sponsored and visited the graves of young men KIA in Nam in 1967. They were from the area that I live. I got interest when I found out that the owner of the motorcycle shop where I've traded for a number of years was a classmate and best friends with two of them. They were killed on the same day and same firefight. "The Boys of '67" is a great book about the 9th infantry Division in Nam.

My Very Best Regards and Thank You for your service.

Bill Binder

Duplicate memorial
Thanks for the note. The cemetery in Port Huron is a little confusing and I didn't know a memorial existed. I respect your project and wish you luck and God's blessing with it!

RE: Gerald Fitts
That is awesome. I did not serve, though my father fought at Okinawa and both of my brothers served. My younger brother was career Navy and my own son is currently serving on the USS George Washington.

John Barovetto
I knew John, we rode the same bus to Holy Rosary School. John was in 7th or 8th grade and I was in first. After he passed away, I was the alter boy at his funeral. I'll try to take a better photo than the one already in Find A Grave
