UPDATE from Andrea Brangan I would like to Thank everyone on Find-A-Grave for everything. I just signed on and see our page is a Memorial Page for Steve. How wonderful! He did most of the work with Find-A-Grave. He pulled up the requests, mapped everything out, found the headstones, and I would take a lot of the pictures and he would post them. We were a team. We both loved gravin'. Steve loved to help people and Find-A-Grave gave him the opportunity to do that. I think it is part of what kept him going. When Steve was diagnosed with cancer he was Stage 4. We didn't know until his hospitalization in August that the life span of someone with his diagnosis was 20 months or less. I am glad they never told him that when he was diagnosed! He survived almost 3 years! He was a fighter I'll tell you! And the love of my life. I don't know how I will go on without him but he wanted me to so I will with the grace of God, prayers, and a good support system. In June we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. We loved the Smokies so we got a cabin for a week. While we were there I arranged to have our vows renewed. Steve told everyone about that. It was so special! And I didn't even think of this - 25 years - silver. But Steve did. He got me the most beautiful antique jewelry box. It was all tarnished and he polished it all up and it is beautiful. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers and thoughts. Steve was an awesome guy! And he had the best sense of humor! Steve's email is listed as a contact above and I don't have his password to retrieve emails so if anyone wants to email me please feel free to email me at: email@example.com My thanks to everyone! Andrea Brangan ---------------------------------------------- I am the Spotter and Andrea is the driver! I started working on my genealogy about 11 years ago. In August 2010 a friend told us about Find-A-Grave and we got hooked! I had been diagnosed with colon cancer in Nov. 2009 and am on disability and "gravin" has given me a way to get out of the house, get some exercise, and help people out! We haven't done too bad since we started - to date we have over 2000 headstones we've found for people. I enjoy working with the people I have met at the cemeteries (the ones above ground!) And knowing that we are helping people who otherwise would not be able to get access to photos of their loved ones is great! As for Andrea ~ she has a fulltime job and is limited on the time she can help ~ but she enjoys "gravin" too. It gives us a chance to spend "quality" time together. I had cataract surgery so I am the "Spotter" of the headstones while she is the "Driver" to, from, and around the cemteries.
James T. Channel, 19522138 Dear Andrea, I am writing to ask permission to use the photo that you and Steve posted for James Channel. He was in Co B 120th OVI. I have been researching the 120th Ohio Volunteer Infantry for the last 12 yrs in order to identify the men and tell about their lives. I would like permission to use your photos on my site and on any CD or print copy of my research that I will give to the Wayne County library in Wooster OH. I always give credit for the photos. Thanks for any help. Susie Holderfield
RE: My husband Steve Brangan Dear Andrea you are so welcome. I am sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to loose a loving spouse. I have also lost two precious son's so I do know your pain. Take care dear friend.
Monument Hi Andrea, I am Brad (Undertaker 61) Myers, and I would like your permission to use a photo of the headstone you took of; Lorna Luegrin #52565783. She is buried in Catholic Cemetery here in Fort Wayne. I will be using the photo for Husband, Kenneth. Thank you! Brad
Winnifred Double photo The photo on Winnifred Double's memorial #66352446 is not hers. It is her mothers who was born 1794 died 1872 and is in the same cemetery. Her mothers name on the memorial is Winnifred Master Double. If you get a chance maybe you could remove it. Thank you. LInda Brown Find A Grave#47124157.
Thanks I just wanted to thank both of you for all your hard work. You mention how much it meant to Steve, well it means a lot to the rest of us too. So very kind to spend his, (and your), time helping others. God bless you both. I'm sure Steve is in Heaven trying to bless us all. Thank you, thank you both.
Edward Hilker You made a caption for this grave marker about getting a better picture. I had one in my files and posted it, so you may want to remove yours??? I read you bio. I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you had a wonderful life together.
Again I have to apologize for not replying sooner and again I want to thank you so much for getting a photo of Jessie Newcomer's tombstone and also for Ellen Lindsay's tombstone. I really do appreciate your time and effort to get these tombstone photos.
