Bio

My Great Great Grandfather William Carroll came to Gasconade County Missouri about 1829 from Madison in Marion County Tennessee where they had land around the Little Saquatchie River. They came to Missouri with Jared Branson, Sr and his four sons and daughters and sons-in-law, together with a large number of related families. William married Rebecca Branson, daughter of Jared Branson, Jr. William was reportedly buried in the Lemmons Cemetery in Section 15 of Township 42, Range 6 West in Gasconade County Missouri. Interestingly, my Grandmother Ladoisha Ann Posey Carroll was a 3rd Great Grand Daughter of Jarret Branson Sr. (1754-1831) through his son Thomas. My Carroll Grandparents were therefore Branson cousins.

My Great Grandfather William Carroll and Great Grandmother ELizabeth Smith rest at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery/Nubbin Ridge outside New Woollam Missouri. And, I am related by birth or marriage to most of those resting there.

Surnames of my other great grandparents on my Father's side include Posey, Branson, Baty, Gorman, Jett, Tackett, Moore, Pointer, East, Lynch & McGowan. My Father's parents, grand parents and great grandparents farmed and lived in Gasconade and Osage Counties.

My mother's maiden name was Crane and her mother's was Pendleton. Surnames of my other great grandparents on my Mother's side include Jarrett, Stratton, Creason, Sherley, LaRue, Ballinger, Isbell, Cox, Tinsley, Hughes, & Dillard. My mother's parents, grand parents, and great grandparents farmed and lived in Osage, Cole, Miller and Maries Counties.

I have been interested in my genealogy for some time and luckily had family that did genealogy research on the Carroll's and Pendleton's. In 2009, I began going to old communities, cemeteries & historical societies' in Gasconade, Osage, Maries, Miller & Cole counties where my antecedents lived and died.
