I am married I have three children and one grandchild:I am the baby girl of eight children born to Ellis and Maxine Slavens Woods. While growing up family history was never spoken about. I never had the privilege of knowing my grandparents so it made me have a desire to know where I came from. My research started my senior year of high school when a secretary in the school gave me four family group sheet telling me to document as much history from family members as possible. I still have those pages after all these years. One of my main goals at the time was to find family who might have a picture of my grandfather James Jarrett Woods. I still have not found a picture but the many lines that I have connected and the family and distant cousins I have meet along the way has been priceless. I would like to thank those who have been so gracious to help me along my journey. ----------------|
My ancestors on my fathers Line is Woods, Davis, Bolinger, Hayes, Newberry, Terry, Newport My ancestors on my mothers line are Slavens, Ussery, Morrison, Taylor, Moore, Edwards, Holts, Campbell, Young, Ford, White, From my 1st marriage into Mashburn family and my oldest daughters lineage is Mashburn, Jay, Nutt, Landers and Mason , Robbirds- Robirds, Roberts , Ford, Friend, My sister marrried a Stockstill and Stockstill ties into my daughters heritage also. My oldest daughters heritage is just important to me as my other children. I may not be married into the family anymore but she is still a part of it, Sad that a family member of this line has forgotten. I will pass my daughters heritage to her some day. My 2nd husband's lineage is Montgomery, Chandler and Smith ================
Remember.........That which you share, multiplies and divides. That which you withhold, diminishes and dies. W. Clement Stone-----------
Do your best to share your time, your knowledge, your pictures, your entries. Hoarding names helps no one and they remain basically a naked name with hopefully some part of a date - nothing else ____________
There are many other names that I have researched and connected on FAG that are limbs off of my main line. All are family to me. -----
Romans 2:1-3 You, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?===============
Warning---Searching for Family Tree information can be addictive. -- Always wonder about where you are going, but NEVER forget where you came from?? -- "Let US before WE die, gather up OUR heritage and offer it to OUR children" Unknown Author===================
"Those we love don't go away...They walk beside us every day...Unseen, unheard, but always near...Still loved, still missed and very dear."----------
Life has it's ups and downs, sometimes happiness and sometimes sorrow, but we must not ever forget the people who have gone before us. Their trails were more difficult and their losses many, but with out their efforts and struggles, you and I wouldn't be here.============
Your tombstone stands among the rest;neglected and aloneThe name and date are chiseled outon polished, marbled stoneIt reaches out to all who careIt is too late to mournYou did not know that I'd existYou died and I was born.Yet each of us are cells of youin flesh, in blood, in bone.Our blood contracts and beats a pulseentirely not our own.Dear Ancestor, the place you filledone hundred years agoSpreads out among the ones you leftwho would have loved you so.I wonder if you lived and loved,I wonder if you knewThat someday I would find this spot,and come to visit you. |James Beltz||RE: how to get memorials|
|PattynVegas||Ida Bell Duvall|
Ida Bell Smith married Rozell and later Duvall.
Her parents were Thomas Jefferson Smith and Mariah Catherine Sullivan - Smith and later married John B Yates. Mariah died in 1881 so I am assuming John raised IDA with his second wife Susan Viola Griffith. John B. Yates was my Uncle and he raised his brother Alex my grandfather. Ida and Alex were born the same year.

I wonder if I might have permission to use your photo of the grave of Jane Cookson for my family history website. Please see http://beach-mcininch.com/beach/beach-cemeteries.php to see how I use these photos. I would give you credit for your photo.
Are you a descendant of William Ford? I'm looking for info about the children of his first wife Lucinda Dee Pence.

No thanks necessary, we do it for the enjoyment and exercise.

I agree with you, it would be nice to know exactly what plot. The town of Keefeton, OK, manages the cemetery; the city clerk probably could help.

Would u like this memorial and all the ones I have created from Hulbert? Another lady said like me,she didnt live there but she would take the ones from Hulbert.I would really like to give them to some1 that will work on them.I like to do research on microfilm and I am nowhere near the location to help on these memorials.I do my research by phone and internet.So it's pretty limited since I can't get to any of the old newspapers.
