Bio Photo I became interested in our family history as a direct result of the avid interest of my mother. My life has become enriched by this desire to know where I came from. Thanks mom!

I truly enjoy Find A Grave and the Find A Grave community. This growing group of volunteers is so willing to help other researchers!

I am very willing to add to and correct any of the memorials I manage and will do so as quickly as possible.

RE: Charles Rumsey 1830-1863
I was given copies of all the Rumsey research done by Jean Rumsey done in LEWP which I have converted to Word. Jean lived 1912 to 2009 and researched many Rumey lines, hers being the Robert line adn mine is the Simon line.

She didn't find a burial site for Hiram nor for his two wives.

From Jean: " In Washington Co probate files is the petition of a "friend", J. M. Wiley,
dated 10 June 1882, to have Oliver Taylor appointed guardian for Hiram Rumsey
because he was a spendthrift and an uncontrollable drunkard, and had been for a
period of years. A second petition signed by Hiram's wife Harriet Rumsey and
his brother C. C. Rumsey, to have J. O. Kendall appointed guardian, was granted
5 Dec 1882. (PR File 2226)"

May I have your permission to use your photo from this memorial in my Ancestry.com tree? Thanks!

RE: Berndt and Troeller family
Thanks for catching the duplicates. Thanks also for requesting that Herman be linked to his parents' memorials.

The memorial created in 2009 for Herman Berndt #39109525 also lists his mother's maiden name as REETZ. I can only find the maiden name listed as Grams in two different marriage licenses.

Oh well! I'll keep searching.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi there --

I got your edit requests for this memorial. Unfortunately, photos are obituaries are no longer allowed on memorials. Could you please delete it? If you'd like to transcribe the obit (with source information), I'll be happy to add it the memorial.

Thanks!

Spanheimer Family
Hi Cindy
Thank you so much for all the wonderful work you are doing, it is a big help for those of us who do not live in the area and don't have easy access to the cemeteries. I am researching the family of Anna Marie Spanheimer Katsfey (b. 8 Sept,1843-
d. 1 Feb 1889 ) buried in the old St. Peter Cemetery in Slinger. I'm wondering if you uncovered any other info about the family or someone might have sent you her obituary when you you posted the grave picture ??? I know she was born in France but am looking for the village..

Linda

RE: Mary Ann (Schmidt) Horneck #121847721
Thanks, Cindy. I too am trying to make the Memorials as accurate as possible. I have received some of my information from Schmidt cousins so I am fairly confident it is correct. My maternal Grandmother was a Schmidt from Barton, so I am distantly related to many of the Schmidts from there. Thanks for all you do in putting up their Memorials.

Sincerely,
Marg

Charles Wallis
This is a relative. Its interesting to note that on the Memorial for the Civil War Vets that his name is listed as Charles W. Wallis, not Charles Edward Wallis. Do you know if that is an engraving error? Thank you
