If you have a better picture than I do, feel free to add it and I will delete mine. Also, if you have any photographs that you would like to add, or any corrections to be made, I welcome them! Even though the transcripts that I have been adding have been in Canada, I live in California so can't help take any pictures or visit these locations. I will gladly do transfers, unless it is someone that I am closely related to. As of Fall 2015 I am not going to be as active on this site as I once was. Even though I enjoy genealogy, I have burned out, but am still glad to help whenever I can.

RE: Ontario Cemeteries
Good for you and I'm sure there are many, like me, that really appreciate what you've done! The whole collaborative effort is really what makes Find A Grave such a success!

I've spent 5+ years working on my trees at Ancestry but I've pretty much exhausted every avenue of research so now I put my time into Find A Grave. I don't work off paper transcripts (too costly, lol) but I do find many other ways to add memorials. The whole process is rather addictive. Most recently, I've started photographing cemeteries. Lots of fun - it's too bad that winter is about to shut down that endeavor for a while.

Anyway, thanks again and I look forward to getting the transfer for Helen Armstrong!

RE: Armstrong Edits
Thanks Jan! And yes, a transfer would be great. I had wanted to add something to Helen's bio anyway. Thank you so much!

And I was just wondering ... how is it that you, being in California, worked on transcriptions from Ontario cemeteries? You're the 2nd person I've seen from California working on our Ontario cemeteries so now I'm curious. :)

RE: Henry Evans
Hi Jan,

At the moment I only see Henry Evans as a family member that you manage. Thank you for the offer to transfer his memorial to me.

His Find a Grave Number is: 86477753

RE: Park Again
To be honest, I'm very confused. Can we try this discussion via e-mail?

RE: Janet/Jane Park
I managed to locate the cemetery index and here is what it provides. These are for the names of the three individuals which appear on the squat for sided gravestone.

Jane HAY
died Oct. 29, 1877
aged 74

Janet, wife of Hugh PARK
died Oct. 20, 1879
AE 88 yrs. ... mos. 15 d's

died June 2, 1913 aged 63 years

Does this help you out? There is some written text at the bottom of Mary PARK's and Janet PARK's gravestone but it is not recorded in the cemetery index and I find it too small to read. It is usually a quotation from the Bible or wishes for the deceased. I'll enlarge it and try to read it if I can.

I'll try to get the inscriptions information for you. This cemetery is one of the few that I don't have a cemetery index for and am not aware that there is one. I'll do the best I can for you and will keep you apprised.

RE: Janet/Jane Park
Whatever works. There is also a Janet Park in addition to Jane Hay Park, with different birth & death dates. I believe that Janet Park was Hugh Park's wife, if you can believe the inscriptions on the gravestones.
