I live in Slidell, Louisiana and has been interested in searching for family and going to cemeteries to take pictures of headstones. I find it amazing at some of the old headstones. I am working on my husband's family tree and has been fun while it still continues. We have a family cemetery in Pearl River called Porter Cemetery. If anyone has family members buried in Pearl River & Slidell, St. Tammany Parish or Pearl River & Hancock Counties area and would like pictures of headstones please feel free to contact me.
My husband family members that I am searching are: McKean, Porter, Auderer, Winzor and many more...
Archie L. Porter Hello! I got the following message from someone who found your record for Archie Porter. Can you help him? I responded to him with a link to your information page, so he may also contact you. Here is Mr. Starks' info page: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=mr&MRid=48895532 Thanks!
------------------- Archie L. Porter I found a picture of a WWII Veteran in my mothers bible awhile back. The name does not ring a bell to me. I have asked my only living relatives if anyone had known him or any information as to why Mother had a picture of him in her bible. My family are from Slidell, La and most are buried in Pearl River also.
The purpose of this inquiry is I am 73 years old and I would love to send this photo to his survivors if instrested. I would like to know why is was in Mother's bible as I said. Last, bust not least One of my uncles many years ago before had told me he was Mother's 2nd husband after my father was killed in WWII on D-D. I would like to get this confusion cleared up if possible before I depart the world. Once again I am baffled with the photo, but I received Mother's bible from her belongings when she passed in 1961. If Mr Porter is indeed you relative you may contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I also am a retired veteran, but of Vietnam. I hope to hear from someone who may know him.I would be most happy to send a small picture for you to confirm before I send the original. Thanks.
