I would like to kindly ask those good contributors adding death certificates, etc on my memorials as photos to please stop and I would also like to ask for ones already added to my memorials to be removed. Sure, some have good vital info, but some also contain things not always suitable to put on F-A-G. Please respect my wishes as I respect your memorials. I will be glad to add any info that is vital to the person and you can send edits for most of it, thank you all in advance, Larry.

Currently working on photographing Highland Burial Park, Danville, its a biggy. When time permits, I also photograph cemeteries in Franklin County, Va, Callands, Chatham and Museville area of Pittsylvania County, and some Patrick & Henry County, Va areas.

The one thing I take pride in is that close to 99% of all my memorials are ones that I have personally been to the gravesite & have photographed the memorial myself, there is no guess work, eliminates anyone put in the wrong cemetery, I know for a fact they are there.

I also have been asked several times by other contributors if they could use my pics on their and personal sites. Yes, feel free to do so. I am glad I can fill holes in some unfilled spaces.
I do ask not to use my pics on f-a-g without permission, which has been done a several times. I will say yes, but give me the courtesy of asking, thanks.

RE: Cynthia Rowland.
Hi Here is the obit. as it appeared in the Danville Register on Sun Oct. 22.

Miss Rowland, a lifelong resident of Danville, was a senior at George Washington High School. She was born June 15, 1950 and was a Jehovah's Witness, attending the Kingdom Hall on Piney Forest Rd.
Miss Rowland was the daughter of Mrs Ramona Rowland and Police Officer Lee Rowland of 152 Fox St. She is survived by two sisters Mrs Janet Powell of Danville, and Miss Shelia Marie Rowland of the home; one brother, Joseph Lee Rowland also of the home; maternal grandparents, James M. and Lalah Setliff Fox of Danville; and paternal grandparents, Fitzhugh Lee Rowland and Frances Ashworth Rowland of Danville.

This is what was basically in the paper along with the accident but I didn't include that. If you want I can send you the whole story. Again many things in all that you have done in doing the work so that these people will not be forgotten.

Thanks For All You Do
Larry ~

Just a note to say thanks for all you do ~ the photographs have filled in gaps and helped me to trigger interest in our family's genealogy. Most people these days never trek out to visit the graves of family, but when they see a photograph and realize how close they are to the sites of so much family history, they become intrigued.

Whenever I can I try to add obituaries to the F.A.G. posting, since it can assist researchers in making a positive identification. It also helps these postings show up on Google searches, which is an added bonus!

We truly appreciate your hard work :)

RE: Cynthia Rowland.
From looking at the newspapers it appeared that she and a whole group of teenagers were out on a hayride. to hhIt was her fathers truck (Lee Rowland) and she asked a boy to drive so that she could get in the back with the other people. Well the guy was in the left hand lane and went over to the right hand lane and collide with a car. The impact since the truck over to the other lane where it overturned and pinned her. She was taken to the hospital where she died an hour later. According to my mother her last words were for her father to hold her since she was cold. Rather a sad story. All the other teenagers (13) only had minor injuries and released that night at the hospital. This was what was in the paper but again I have not talked to any others who were hear when this accident occurred. One thing I was wondering was that I have the obituary that was released in the paper. Would you mind if I put this in and if you don't mind how do you do this. This is only my second day doing this and I really feel like a rookie. Thanks again

RE: Cynthia Rowland.
Hi thanks for the message. I was not related to her but I was her next door neighbor the summer of 1967. We became good friends that summer but I lost touch with her when I returned to college. I recently returned to live in Danville and never knew the read story about her death so I really started to find out the truth but this has not been easy since her family moved out of what was her house and to begin with I couldn't remember her last name. Well after many weeks of searching and looking I have come up with a partial understanding. I still hope to get in touch with her surviving family members. I hope you don't mind my putting all of this out since I am hoping it may reach someone who tell me the rest of the story. Again thanks for your help. Without you I would have never known where she was buried.

She should be linked to William Washington Goad and Ella Jane Yeatts Goad as their daughter.

her memoral # is 85077784. For some reason it will not let me link her to her family other than my dad.

My name is Martha Watson Walker and I was looking at Lottie's Mom, Dad, brother and Sisters and she is not listed at all. Is there any reason she would not be. By the way Lottie Goad Watson was my Step-mother. Really curious about this.
