Bio

As a young girl I was interested in family & genealogy. However, I began my research, in earnest, when I promised my father, Judge Robert H. McClelland, who was on his death bed, dying of cancer, in 1984, that I would find his family in Ireland when I retired from the teaching field. It became possible to fulfill this promise in 1998. As a result of finding my McClelland roots in Northern Ireland in 2000, my husband & I left with a film crew from Canada to film our meeting my McClelland family in Northern Ireland, just outside of Belfast. We were filmed for a T.V. program called "The Journey Home" to be aired on the History, Life and Discovery channels.
As a result of this very postive experience and further research, my husband and I have met extended family members by travelling to Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, United States and many provinces throughout Canada. Some family members have travelled from England & the U. S. to meet us. Through the internet we have met family members in many other countries!
I am running many many family trees. A few of them are McClelland, Anderson, Dickie, Leel, Mowat, Bethune, Waling/Wayling, Craven, Sellar, McDonald, McLeod, Jewitt, Smith, Wright, etc.
There are numerous family members that have provided information and pictures to expand and improve my family trees. I thank each and everyone of you! The list would be too long to give each of you credit for your help but again, thank you!
