Bio

I have been interested in my family history for as long as I can remember. Since 2009 I have been actively researching my family tree and have spent many warm summer afternoons seeking out a relative's grave. My family always laughs at my interest in the dead and joke on vacation when we see a cemetery that I am going to want to stop and look for our family name. It is all in good fun and I am sure many of you can relate.

The following poem was found in my grandmothers purse after she passed:

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night:
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
