I am an 8th generation American, descendant of the Guerra and Carabajal (Carvajal) founding families of 1718 and of the Canary Islanders (Curbelo and Travieso) that created the first formal government of La Villa de San Fernando de Bexar, today known as "San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas".

I am the 2nd great grand daughter of Jose Estevan Sandoval, Sheriff of San Antonio, Texas during the late 19th century. His parents were Carlos Sandoval, an enlisted 1st Corporal during the Civil War, and Maria Jesusa Carillo. Her father Mathias Carillo fought for Texas Independence.

Carlos Sandoval's father Lieutenant Jose Maria Sandoval hailed from Spain and arrived at Vera Cruz on the frigate Venganza. He married Maria Gertrudis Rodriguez, daughter of Texas Ranger, Mariano Rodriguez.
