I have been doing genealogy for 30 plus years. Absolutely have a passion for my ancestors and learning more about them. I have been a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas for 22 years. Have proven 19 ancestors were in Texas during the Republic. Still searching for the 20th one! I am elgible for a number of lineage organizations. But prefer spending as much time as I can doing research for now. Although, I am diligently trying to prove my Mayflower lineage through my gggrandmother Sarah Jane Blair. Her parents were George W. Blair and Marhta Bonham.
I really have enjoyed the findagrave website. And used it many many times. I will help others in any way I can. It has made reseach so much easier. In the past every time we were going on a vacation, our kids would ask, "Are you going to see live people or dead people"? They knew the answer. We never passed up a cemetery or courthouse.
