Mrs. McCague Dies at Age 91
A lifelong resident of Ossian Route 4 until four years ago, Mrs. Marion (Saddie V.) McCague,91, died at 1:30 a.m. today at the Turtle Creek Convalescent Home North, where she had resided the past 18 months.
Prior to that time she resided three years in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Mable) Herbst of Fort Wayne.
Born Aug. 19, 1884 in Wells County, she was a daughter of Opediah and Susanna Robinson Shimer. Her marriage to Mr. McCague, who died in 1946, took place in Bluffton in 1902. Mrs. McCague was a member of the Nazarene Church in Ossian.
In addition to the daughter, she is survived by two sons, Kenneth of Ossian Route 4 and Wendell of Chicago; five other daughters, Mrs. Charles (Susanna) McCalla of Peru, Mrs. Adam (Arlene) Baumgartner and Mrs. Marvin (Joan) Lahr, both of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Mary Schneider and Mrs. John (Marcelle) Vrtiak, both of Chicago, 38 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Elzey-Dickey-Haggard Home for Funerals in Waynedale, where services will be at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Tocsin Cemetery.

McCAGUE FUNERAL TO BE HELD ON SUNDAY
DEATH OF ANDREW C. McCAGUE OCCURRED THRUSDAY MORNING
Andrew C. McCague, 70, well known farmer of the Tocsin neighborhood, passed away Thursday morning at 10:45 at the Lutheran hospital at Ft. Wayne where he had been a patient for several weeks, and where he had undergone a serious operation. He had been in poor health for several years.
Andrew C. McCague was born in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, February 22, 1853, the son of William and Margaret (Archbold) McCague. His parents moved to a farm east of Echo when he was 4 years old, and he was reared to manhood in that vicinity. He purchased land southeast of Ossian and about fifty years ago himself erected the house which had since been his home. He was married to Miss Irene Doty and the wife and the following children survive: Marion McCague, of south of Bluffton; Floyd and Will McCague, Mrs. Margaret Kellogg and Mrs. Edith Huss, of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Inez Scott, of Bluffton. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Mary Dison and Charles McCague, of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Charles Snarr, Miss Ida McCague, Marion and James McCague, of the community south and east of Ossian. County Recorder Oscar McCague is a nephew.
Mr. McCague was a member of the Tocsin United Brethren church.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the U. B. church at Tocsin, and burial will be in the cemetery at Tocsin.
