*Note about Mt Olivet: if a person is buried in a TIER, cemetery cannot confirm if a stone is there or not, if the volunteer says theres no stone visible, there is no stone the cemetery can dig for*-told to me by cemetery Director himself.

last names in my family: BALICKI, BALITZKI, BALITZKY, (all variations of the same name), STACHURSKI, WITKOWSKI; my focus is on BALICKI/BALITZKI/BALITZKY. You'd be surprised how many variations in spelling there are through the years!!!

facebook has a great group called "Polish Genealogy" that can help too.

If you are seeking Sacramental Records, Burton Histortical Collection has them on microfilm for some ofthe closed Catholic Churches in metro Detroit.
Note: The Burton Historical Collection at the Detroit Public libary is the repository for the City of Detroit records. Per law, Detroit records were kept separate from Wayne County records.

If you are searching Polish last names or Eastern European names, remember they were gender specific, example:Balicki (male) Balicka (fem)
