James William BOYD Hello . My ggg uncle Benjamin was father of Sarah Elizabeth Ponder . Would you by chance have picture of any of Sarah, James Boyd and their children? I saw your post on Find a Grave. any pictures or information would be greatly appreciated. Diana Truelove ( RE: Sarah Elizabeth Ponder & James Edward Boyd). Thank you for your time.
Birthdate I found a birthdate for Clayton Cullen Reed on familysearch.org listed in public records. It had one flaw that made me wonder. It showed he lived there until 2008. Knowing the date of his obit, I hope this info is accurate. It did list other family members correctly, so I think it is. Perhaps the 2008 was for someone else in a generalized way.
Clayton's birthdate In the manuscript, he never talks about himself. I found a date of about 1911 for him on a census for the family. In fact, he did not give a date for his marriage. His focus was on the rest of the family. He did however give the date of his grandson's birth. Obviously it was a point of pride for him. It seems to have been among his last entries before he shared his work with my sister who then shared it with me much later. I hope the work being in Tyler will continue to help people as he seemed to want to. I am always proud to share what I learned from him.
This is the message Findagrave was sending out to people who had edits waiting. This big change happened in late 2013, and I am finding a lot of people don't know about it. :
"FindaGrave has added a new editing function to all members. Check the 'Edit' tab on your profile page for pending edit requests for your memorials."
You currently have one or more such edit requests on your profile page. Most edit requests are no longer sent from FindaGrave with an email notice to the memorial creator/current manager. You have to go to your profile page and check the Edit tab to see the requests for additions or changes to your memorials.
Please check your profile page so that the requested edits can be processed. FindaGrave has made this change to facilitate rapid handling of multiple edit requests. ----------- When you sign in and go to your profile page, you see at the top your name and contributor number. Under that is the line that says how long you have been a member. Underneath that, and slightly to the right of center is a tab called "edits". It may be grayed out, but it is still clickable anyway. If you see a number in ( ) there, that is telling you how many edits you have to process. Check that first and let me know if you find anything there. If not, I will have to redo them as I come across them the next time. I know everyone was used to getting an email before, and that is not happening most of the time now, only if someone works outside of the system and sends you a direct email, so a person needs to check this at least every couple of weeks, I would think. I have several months worth of them built up now, that people aren't aware of, it would appear.
Did you find those "edits" in order? did you need anything else to be able to process them. Please let me know. I still show one or more as pending, awaiting your action. (Refer to my previous message)
EDITS Cedar Tree Cemetery In case you were wondering, the source on those edits I have put in (mainly plot numbers) -- is the book "Our People And Where They Rest: A Visit to 104 Old Cemeteries in Eastern Oklahoma," James W. Tyner, Maxine Tyner and Alice Tyner Timmons, American Indian Institute, University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. 1970-1985, (Library of Congress No. QE99-C5-T97) There wasn't a place for me to put that in the edit form. Thanks for all your help! Best wishes.
RE: Dortha Emma Meineke Stout Memorial# 33000833 Your welcome. Its the least I can do for them. I said I would do family first and then direct my energies for other ppl. I *wished* more ppl would get involved in this Find-A-Grave stuff. It would be nice if everyone had an obituary posted ...cuz w/out it aint nobody gonna know who they were and there would be no point to this website.I did a chek on George C. Groover and the parents and did not see them listed on the okgenweb.org files. If I should run across those obit's on microfilm, I will submit them also.~Liz
