|I have been researching my family lineage for about three solid years now. I have made many discoveries here on Findagrave.com, or at least some very solid leads. |
Names in my tree- Carey, Rowntree, Brown, Harkey, Lackey, Mauck, Cain, Benge, Howell, King and Milam.

I went to Ashland 5 years ago to find and photograph some of my family and photographed some stones at total random while walking around. I did not make any attempt to photograph the entire cemetery. Your great grandparents may be there but not photographed as thier obits state. I live in Wichita and do not plan to make a return trip to Ashland anytime in the near future. What I would do is contact a local funeral home in or near Ashland to see if they have the name and phone number for the caretaker for Highland. You might try Myatt-Ashland Funeral Home 420 N. Main, Ashland, KS 67831 (620) 635-2511. You might also try contacting the local historical society at Ashland. They may have a complete transcription for the cemetery. The Clark County Historical society Pioneer-Krier Museum 620-635-2227. I wish you luck on your search.

Well, I can't quite make it out. It says born in Sequoyah Dist. and died in Illinois Dist. Below the death date, it says something Cherokee Nation. Then I can't make out the rest. Sorry. I blew it up on photoshop, but it doesn't help much. Glad I could help some though and thanks for your kind words. Frances
