RE: Woodland Cemetery
I did not notice one for Mr. Connelly but nearby was a stone marked "Infant" but the rest of the stone was unreadable and precariously leaning. Another stone lying nearby was for the mother of J.S. Shoop and was inscribed, "IN memory of the mother of J.S. Shoop died Dec 8, 1873 Aged 79Y 7M 19D". That stone is lying down. If you would like these photos, just send me your e-mail address and I'll forward them to you so you can post them.

RE: Leslie & Alice Peterson
You're welcome, this was a new cemetery for me and I love getting to visit new cemeteries! I just uploaded the family Peterson marker. Note that there were a number of grave markers around this family marker. Two Baby, Willie, Bennie, Edwin L, Edwin J and Ole and Ellen labeled as Father and Mother. I connected those two, let me kwow if you know how any of the other's relate and I can link them as well.

Sheldahl Family
Thank you for all the info. I think I got all the info added. I have belonged to Find A Grave for several years, but never learned how to navigate around. I hoped I explained clearly about the 2 cemeteries. Sheldahl Cemetery (main one for the town) is in Polk Co. at the south edge of Sheldahl. The main part of town is in Story Co. Sheldahl Lutheran Cemetery is abt. 2 miles north of town is in Palestine Twp. sec. 18, Story Co., IA. just east of the corner of 500th Ave. (co. road 38) & 310th St. I have been contacted before about getting these 2 mixed up & then adding a 3rd one with a Slater address. I need to look up the actual postal address for it. Please feel free to contact me anytime.

Osmund Sheldahl
Sorry I am sending you so many messages. I should have read through all the suggestions first. They are all duplicates from Dylan Thomas & mine. It is because he put the wrong cemetery name on & a different town. The picture of the cemetery gate is hard to see the name. We related to Osmund this way Osmund - Halvor - James to my husband Lloyd.
I don't know how to join Dylan's & my information. I don't know what I should do. If you know can you please tell me?

Yes this is a duplicate. Same problem Dylan Thomas has Sheldahl Cemetery & Slater, IA. It is Sheldahl Lutheran Cemetery.

Henry O. Sheldahl
The ones added by Dylan Thomas are a duplicate. He has the name as Sheldahl Cemetery when it is Sheldahl Lutheran Cemetery. He also has the address as Slater which is about 2 miles to the east of the cemetery. It is straight north of Sheldahl about 1-2 miles. Being out in the country maybe the mailing address for that area would be Slater instead of Sheldahl.

Sheldahl, IA. Cemeteries
Sorry I goofed so I will start again. I got a notice from find-a-grave with 2 questions about the 2 cemeteries in Sheldahl, IA. These are two different cemeteries. Both are on find a grave. The tiny town of Sheldahl is in 3 counties Boone (west side), Polk (south) & Story (north). The Sheldahl Lutheran is in Story Co., Palestine Twp. about 2 miles north of the town. This is where Rev. Osmund Sheldahl is buried. The town was named after him. The Sheldahl Cemetery is in Polk Co. at the south edge of town. It is the main one for the city. I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions just contact me.

RE: Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola
Three ring binders are on shelves for anyone to see at anytime. The newer ones are separated by year and have a index. Older obituary's are grouped together without a index. I have been using a digital camera for years taking photo's there.
