"Dear Ancestor"

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Can you tell me how you know that the parents listed for her are not her parents? Also, do you know who her parents are? I found a book in the genealogy library in Salt Lake City that had some information that I was interested in, and I copied page 90 from that book on deaths of people in Iowa. Her name, birth and death dates were listed on that page with the cemetery and parents. It also listed her as being the wife of C.C. Can you help me with this?

Robert Siepmann
Hi Cindy,

Katie added a photo of a stone for Robert Siepmann (116860387) so I wonder if you would be so kind as to remove your photo of an unmarked stone. Thanks, Cindy.

All the best,

She was my great aunt and I grew up in the town where she and AJ Brown lived.

There is an alumni register at the Nevada Public Library as well as the Nevada High School yearbooks for quite some time. I would contact the Nevada Public Library for assistance.

RE: Delia Bunce
From what I can tell, her husband Charles is still alive at the age of 95.

Looks like we are cousins back to the Wheeler in your line. Would love to chat sometime. Not quite sure how to do that...

RE: David & Elizabeth Gull
As you can probably tell from the photo, David's stone was broken and lying flat and the grass is growing around it. I tried to pull some of it back for the photo, but all I could do was uncover a bit of the name Gull. The bottom broken part didn't seem to me that it would ever be readable.

RE: Kevin & Jane Putney
I posted the bench picture to Jane Putney's page. The stone in the background is a Putney family stone.
