Ernest Nesbit at Westview Hello I see your request for a photo on findagrave for Westview Cemetery. I am familiar with that cemetery and would be happy to look for you. Would you please call the cemetery office at 404-755-6611 to find out the section and lot numbers for your request? The office is reluctant to give me that information and in fact has threatened to charge me for it. They do however give it easily to relatives. The cemetery is massive and that section/lot information will help me narrow the search. Thanks Phil
Cleveland Calvary Request Just a friendly mid June reminder that we need plot info to fill your Cleveland Calvary request(s). We have less than 500 requests left but plot info for only 6% of those, having already filled the rest with plot info. We can't ask for plot info for more than 3 requests per week. Please call (216) 641-7575 and obtain plot info. We'd really appreciate it and will fill your request(s) soon after getting plot info. Thank you!
Hollywood cemetery, Richmond, Virginia. I have added to FindAgrave memorial, a map of soldiers section.
Most of the civil war soldiers buried here are in mass graves. Less than 10% of all soldiers have a grave marker. Any burial identified as being in section U, W or lot 703 .... is a mass grave.
Hollywood is a private cemetery. It is well funded and has a friendly, helpful, full time staff that can help with inquiries regarding burials. Please note, many civil war soldiers were not identified. Civil war death records were made by volunteers therefore much information is incorrect, incomplete or non existent.
If you would like me to remove map from memorial, please let me know.
Smith Cemetery in Marshall Co. AL fyi... It appears that this cemetery may not be accessable. The road to it is impassable. When it gets better weather maybe we can figure out how to get to this cemetery.
Calvary You've put in a request at Calvary in Cleveland. I'm starting to plan a trip there in the spring or late winter. With 400,000 burials and 300 acres, if you can obtain plot location AND a plot map from the office (unless it's posted here: http://tinyurl.com/cepkrmb) I can try to take the photo when I go in the spring. Phone number is: (216) 641-7575
You can try to tell them you'll be visiting when they're closed, etc. I know one person who they mailed a plot map to. If you get one let me know and I'll give you my e-mail address. Without this info you're sadly unlikely to get it filled. If I can get info for many it will be worth the 25 minute trip to try to cut down the 759 requests.
