Bio

With retirement after 30 years as a librarian, it's great to have time for genealogy and puppies. My primary family lines are in Madison County, Alabama, Barbour County, Alabama, southeast Alabama, and Stewart County, Georgia. The branches reach much farther than that, and finding lost ancestors and discovering stories are the fascinations of research.

I think that the addition of an obituary is an important step in a FindaGrave memorial and adds such a bonus to the life of the person for whom you have added a memorial. You should summarize it rather than copying word for word. And then, do a citation at the end of the article you're posting, just as you had to do in school research papers.

Please ask about a transfer if you find that I have done a memorial for one of your family members. The only time I may decline to transfer is if the memorial is also one of my family members. You are welcome to use pictures or biographical information that you find on my memorials, but I would appreciate acknowledgement, as is correct with all research.

Genealogy is about sharing, being kind, and helping each other. Thanks to all of you who work on your family trees, post memorials on FAG, and keep our ancestors on the proper branches in our family trees. Our work will live on and help generations coming behind us.
