County Line Churches Halifax County, Va
September 5, 2015

This Findagrave site.

There are two County Line Churches and Cemeteries on Chatham Road. I have been working on my family tree and I have a lot of ancestors buried in the Java location.
I talked with a man that has lived on Chatham Road, Vernon Hill, Va...all his life... and attended the County Line Baptist Church, on the Pittsylvania and Halifax County line, 13142 Chatham Road, all his life.
He said this is the correct address for both of the County Line Churches.

Very close to the Halifax and Pittsylvania County Line

County Line Missionary Baptist Church and Cemetery
This is located about 4 miles to the east of the county line of
Pittsylvania and Halifax County Line

I hope everyone will understand this information

RE: Curtis Flewellen
Don, I was happy to find and photograph Curtis Trenchard Flewellen's marker for you. What an interesting middle name he had...

You're welcome, it was my pleasure. I'm always sadden myself when there is no stone/plaque there, but at least it was marked.

re: Gordon Saas
Phoenix Memorial just called me back again. Their information shows a direct cremation with no burial for Gordon Saas. He is not buried there. If he was a veteran, you may want to try the National Veterans cemetery in Phoenix.

Gordon Saas
Are you sure that Gordon Saas is buried at Phoenix Memorial? They have no such name on their files. I will go out their again on Sunday to recheck.

RE: H. Daniel Lowrey Headstone Photo
Mr. Ort,
First and foremost - thank you for your service. I must apologize. There were over 50 requests in this cemetery and I took a lot of pictures. I forgot to upload Mr. Lowery's military marker. If you go back to his page it is now there. Brian

I fulfilled your photo request for George. I took this photo 3 years ago but did not post it because I had to use chalk to read it. The cemetery is back a ways into thick woods with no sunlight. The engraving is not deep, so it was impossible to read. I hope this is an acceptable photo. If not I will try to get one without the chalk.

RE: Sarah Alden Lapham
My pleasure. It's on of the easier headstones to decipher among the older ones there. Lot of algae and lichen on the older ones.
