I have been working on genealogy since I was a little girl; I used to listen to my grandma talk about family members histories and show me genealogy pages that she had completed and ones she was working on. I loved to get together with her and talk about and review family history she was working on. Somewhere along the line, maybe during junior high, she gave me my own genealogy book with all of our ancestors that she had worked on for years! I caught the genealogy bug from her and it is still with me.

When I was in high school I completed a paper for my English class; I chose to do my paper on my adopted father's ancestors. It was an awesome revelation to me to listen as my grandparents told me about their ancestors. I wrote it all down and submitted the paper - Yup! I got an A on that one!

Doing that English paper further excited me about doing family research and so my quest continues to this very day! I can't imagine living without doing this research - must be the investigator in me needing to know all the details. Every new thing I find excites me through and through. My grandma helped me find things out; encouraged me in my efforts; provided me with advise; loved to hear and read my reports; I miss her immensely!

Finding and then finally embracing findagrave has truly enriched my life and my research. I love this website!
