RE: Oakwood Cemetery duplicate?

I come from a long line of BW Roscoes. My father was John, but his middle brother was Ben W Roscoe, II. Their father was Ben W Roscoe, Jr. from Syracuse, NY. His father was BW RUscoe who died in Lowville, NY and who's grave has never been discovered. That BW's father was Anson Rusco/e. Anson's name was written with and without the e. Anson's father was a Benjamin Ruscoe, but we are unsure if he had any middle name.

The U was changed to an O by my great grandfather and his brother (so the story goes)who owned a fruit & confectionary business in Syracuse, NY, and did not wish to be mistaken for any of the influx of Italian immigrants at the time.

Are you related to the Roscoe's Mr Burke?

Happy Thanksgiving,
Marilynne Roscoe

Oakwood Cemetery duplicate?
Greetings Mr Burke,

I am wondering if the two Mary C Roscoes listed in Oakwood Cemetery are actually the same woman [#74337330 and # 125761199].

My great-grandmother, Mary Caroline Travis Roscoe, was born in Hyde Park, Dutchess, NY; daughter of Orin Travis [117095936] and Susan Stoutenburgh Travis [19566472].

She went to live with her grand-daughter, Virginia Franke, after her husband passed away,
in New York City and probably died there [on East 22nd Street. Is that Brooklyn?], and then she was buried in the family plot in Syracuse, as was Virginia later. Which could be the confusion about her death. I have no idea where the KY birth info came in because our Mary Caroline was most definately born in Hyde Park, NY.

The question then is are there actually two M C Roscoes in Oakwood Cemetery who were born and died at about the same time? Or is the KY born one a duplicate?

Thank you for your time,
Marilynne C Roscoe [her namesake]

ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.
