What started out 25 years ago to be a Fletcher Family tree in and around China, Maine gradually turned to be a family tree of many folks of Kennebec County. Now some would say I'm a baby historian of the area. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries of lost souls in the area.|

Sorry for the delay. I have information Now, about Norman, but not much about Douglas as yet. Still digging. I am now retired and able to spend more time doing my family tree. I am excited I am able to do this.
Norman [Spratt] 'Chalmers', as he was know in later years... was born to Walter A. Spratt & Eugenia 'Jeanie' May (Chalmers) Spratt, 06-20-1903. He never married. Died 06-19-1979 in Helena, Lewis Clark Co., Montana. He lived in Big Timber in his early years & had lived in Lincoln for many years prior to his death.
Douglas [Spratt] 'Chalmers' Was born in 1901 to the same parents. (Not sure of day or month) He married Mable (Dodge) Chalmers. (I have a census for 1930 for Big Timber showing their last name, at the time, was 'Spratt'. But on her headstone it's 'Chalmers'. (B 08-30-1903, D 10-??-1938). I am puzzled as to when the change happened. I can't get exact date of death for Douglas, but I remember the story from my mother, his 1/2 sister, well. He had been smoking a cigarette, either fell asleep or had a heart attack. Chair caught on fire...burned up in it. I am trying to find out info for you. Doug had children but don't have anything exact as yet. One son was in the Navy, (I do know).
Doug & Norm have an older sister. Her name is Marion Adeline (Spratt) O'Dell. (Named after her Aunt, Walter's sister) She was born of the same parents in 09-02-1900 in Marysville, Lewis & Clark County, Montana. She Died Nov. 9, 1980 in Helena, Lewis & Clark County, Montana. She had Married Orange Bert O'Dell (B-1899-D 1954). They had 4 children, Kenneth, Harold, Donald & Richard, all dead.
If there is anything else, I will do my best to help you out. :-)

If you contact their office (through email) and request their location I would take a photo for you. I have been in their office a few times and I think they are tired of seeing me. They would be more willing to do a lookup if the request came from a family member.
Once you have the location just enter it into the memorial page and it will show on the photo request.

I am in the process of working my way through the requests for the Royal Oak Burial Park, Victoria, BC, Canada. I have spoken with the administration for the graveyard and they have advised that they don't have a record of this person in the cemetery. Sorry no pic.

I am in the process of working my way through the requests for the Royal Oak Burial Park, Victoria, BC, Canada. I have spoken with the administration for the graveyard and they have advises that although the above named person was cremated there, family/friends collected the ashes to bury elsewhere. Sorry no pic.

Oh that's wonderful Mel. Thanks so much. I was touched that you called me Pat ~ and Harold my dad.
I'm Pat's daughter Nicola ... and I know you know that. :) It can get a bit crazy keeping everyone straight.
The piece you have written on Harold is lovely just as it is. Thanks very much! The only fact I would question is his last place of residence. 500 Nanaimo Avenue East in Penticton was Hazel's childhood home ~ and where her family still lived.
I recall a story my mom told about how, with her dad dying and being taken for his last trip to the hospital in Penticton (along the Naramata Road) he asked her and Hazel to lift his head so that he could see the lake one last time and how they didn't because they were so worried about him and not moving him ... she always so regretted that decision. With her description of the route along Naramata Road it makes me think they were living out at 3 Mile at that point in time. Oh how I miss my Mom. The things I would ask her now.
Thanks again Mel.
Much love, Nicola
Pat's daughter and Hazel and Harold's grand daughter.

You are most welcome! Many of the headstones are so worn they are not legible. If I'm in that area again, I will take another peek. SHB

Can't thank you enough for your patience in helping me post some personal family photos from the old album. I am so happy to share them.
Sorry, the markers do not have birth dates so I do not have that information for this memorial.
