My great aunt, thanks for posting the photo.
Curious about that burial date? DOD 1978, Burial 1979?
Is there a story there?

RE: Margaret Hofer
Hi Robert,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I sure could be wrong. My experience with Thelma, as we called her, was that she married Giles as husband number 1. Then she abandoned her 4 children and ran off with husband number 2. I really don't have it clear what his surname was, but I think I can find out. Thelma's grandson is on ancestry and a cousin of mine. Maybe he will know.

If Thelma were Margaret's mother, Thelma would have been 15 at the time of birth. ? I don't know.

Let me get back to you about husband number 2's surname.

Thanks, Robert.

RE: Spec Robert Earl Cole
Your welcome, I usually take the time if it involves one of our fallen soldiers. His monument had sunken down, so I repositioned it as best I could for the photo.

Curious, where did you get the photo of my great uncle Harry J Traphoner, Jr? Are you related to him?

RE: Inquiry into J Burns
Awesome! Thank you.

It is interesting that she died of consumption. I believe this is the same woman who travelled to what was known as Wynne at the time in the 1883 - 1884 time frame, now known as Nazareth. She gave birth and the baby died. It was buried in what has become an unmarked grave somewhere around Nazareth. She died, but it is not listed in the records how she died. She was only known as Mrs. John Burns. Her body was transported back to Amarillo where it was then transferred to Austin for burial.
