Catherine Loraine at Calvary Good morning. I walked the whole section yesterday and she does not have a marker. There are several broken stones, concrete bases without markers, a markers so faded that they are unreadable. There are also chunks of stone imbedded in the ground and sticking up, in what I assume is the remnants of what used to be a marker. The back part of the cemetery sustained vandalism a few years back and these are little markers that you have get on your knees to read. Catherine's marker has either been destroyed by time or vandals, or she never had one. Anyway, I uploaded her page from the interment record book so there is official documentation that she is indeed buried there. Her name in the book is spelled "Lorain". Take care, Pamela
Discovered another Halpin at Calvary Greetings! Going through the record book this afternoon, I came across a Sarah Halpin without a memorial page. Do you have records of her? She was moved from St. Patrick's Cemetery to Calvary in 1888 and is beside Terry (originally I thought his marker said Jerry). She shares the same grave as Mabel and that section is very near James & Annie Halpin. I would love to be able to establish a family link, if you have any info on these Halpins. Thanks, Pamela
Matilda Cooney I recently discovered the old interment record book online for Calvary Cemetery. I am using it to look up locations to clear some of the 248 requests. Since I suspect Matilda doesn't have a marker, I uploaded the interment record page so you have some sort of verification of her age at time of death as well as when she was buried (for a rough estimate of death date). If you click on the photo to open it up larger, I put a note on there that she is entry #64851 on the left page. It even lists cause of death: Heart Disease.
