Please visit my great grandfather Giacomo Di Dia / De Dia who immigrated over to the United States from Sicily!
Hobbie: Ancestry and Genealogy, Computer Hardware & Software, Computer Arts & Graphics.
Even though I'm glad to help others with updates and even when I run across past obituaries and I transcribe them, please leave the information intact as they are written and give credit where credit is due. Glad to be here to do my research and help others in return. I don't expect anything else in return, and I don't ask for money, even though I have spent more then my wife would allow. LOL.
My family line Dee, Di Dia, Norwood, Hamilton, Hammer, Minton, DiFrancia, Holt, Torres, O'Brien, Hicks, Duckworth and the list goes on and on.

Hi Kenny, I am sorry to be so late responding to your request. We have had a family emergency that has pretty much occupied our time these last 6 weeks. I will try to do some research for you as soon as I can. Jeannie S.

I am the person that took the photos of Jack Didia grave site.
And I believe Jamileh was (aka Emily) and Jack Didia mother. She and Jack were Syrian. Jamileh is a Syrian name. She was 56 yre old in 1940 and died at 93.That makes her the right age to be his mother. The stone marker are very much alike. This is a large cemetery so stone marker in different sections are not often alike but theirs are alike.
PS All the time i've spent looking for grave sites in UHC these are the only two Didia I have ever seen. If you rather I dont fulfill your request with Jamileh photos let me know
|George Plunkett||Didia @ United Hebrew Cemetery|
Found only one Didia in Section 106.
The name on the stone is Jamileh Didia, said she died May 16, 1977. She was a great grand mother. It did not list her DoB. There is also some Hebrew Writing on the stone.
Do you know if she is the same person you are looking for. If it is Ill fulfill your requst with the photos I've taken
You are most welcome

You're welcome for the photo. Yes, the snow is gone, leaving a very soggy, muddy cemetery. But the temps were up and the rain didn't start until later! My first cemetery outing after the winter.
