Bio and Links
Bio Photo Got into genealogy in 2006 after all my grandparents were gone and my mother and I were looking for information about their parents and grandparents because they didn't talk about them much. Over these last few years I have found a lot of information and who my generations of grandparents are and where they came from, still looking and NOT giving up anytime soon. I am going to always take a second look at that gravestone, and that obituary...

Samuel and Ellen
Elizabeth,
I was so excited to find this site! I am a gr gr grandchild of Samuel and Ellen. I am new to genealogy and would love to find any additional info I can. I am looking for Ellen's parents/siblings but I'm not really sure how to go about it!
Thanks so much for the pics!

RE: Ellen and Samuel Rodgers
Hi,
You're the first person I've run across from the Rodgers line, and my father's family didn't seem to keep any pictures, so I have none. I've just started researching this line so I only have a little info but I'm looking for more. I'll let you know what I find.

RE: Ellen and Samuel Rodgers
Hi,
They are your great great great grandparents? You're more direct than I am. They are my great great grand aunt and uncle. I'm directly descended from Samuel's brother Ruben. I'll transfer them back if you want since you're a more direct relation.

Goodpastures
Correction: Robert Henry's son Arthur David was about 4 yrs old when he died. He was born 7April 1896 and I think he died in Jan 1900

RE: Goodpastures at Old Union Cemetery
I'm sorry I don't have pics or info. on Malinda. I changed the name on her memorial to agree with her tombstone. I left Malinda because it might be helpful to other researchers. I am so excited to have the pictures you posted. They are beautiful. I'd love to visit the cemetery. I live in central KY so I'm too far away. My ancestor Francis O seems to be the only one who stayed in KY. Most of the KY Goodpastures are from Bath Co. across the state. It is a different line I don't know when Francis died. I hope one day to find out. There was a devastating fire at the Hart Co. courthouse in 1923 and the records were burned. I think it's womderful that the Logan Co IL Goodpastures are buried together in a family plot. I think the Arthur D must be Francis' and Mindilia/Malinda's brother and a som of Abraham and Mary. They are buried close and the tombstones are the same style. That seems like good evidence to me. Francis' son Robert Henry is my gr grandfather. He named a son Arthur David. That son died at about hrs old. He may have died in Il. Robert lived there for a while. He was a circuit riding ministers of the Methodist church. He and my gr grandmother divorced. She returned to KY. He eventually settled in CA and lived to the age of 94. I think it's an interesting family.
Thanks for the grave photos!

Goodpastures at Old Union Cemetery
Elizabeth,
Thank you so much for adding the pictures to the Goodpasture memorials. They are wonderful photos!
I noticed you wrote that you are a great great granddaughter of Mindilia Goodpasture Lee. Well, that makes us cousins of some degree because I am a great great great granddaughter of her brother Francis Orlando Goodpasture. I am descended from him through his son Robert Henry Goodpasture.
If you are interested, I'd be most happy to share information with you. Through my research I have learned quite a bit about this family, but still have some questions.
One of them is whether the Arthur D. Goodpasture (1863-1909) buried at Old Union is a son of Abraham H. and Mary Masters. Would you know whether he is or not? I know they had a son of that name, but it's confusing because there are several Arthur Davids and several Abraham Hs. Are the graves near one another?

Another question I have is about your ancestor's correct name. Was her name Mindilia or Malinda? I have seen it both ways on various records. I suppose it was Mindilia since that is what is on the tombstone.

And I have been trying to learn the death date of my gr gr gr grandfather Francis. I know he was alive in Jan 1920 at the time of the census. Some researchers say he died Jan 1921, but no one can provide documentation of that. I live in Kentucky where he spent most of his life.
I have searched every resource I can think of and have not been able to locate a death certificate or obit for him. I have begun to think that he must have died out of state. He had a lot of family in Illinois so he could have died there while on a visit. I searched the online Illinois database, but there was nothing.

Well, if you can shed any light on any of these questions, I'd greatly appreciate. If you have questions I can answer, I'll be most happy to.

Again, thanks for the photos.
