|Kathy Phelan||RE: Mabel Alice Asher McCoy|
Bless you. I figured she would be up there with my Aunt Hazel - never to be found.
I know the sister was murdered by her husband. I had hoped to find her obit to determine Mabel's last name. I'm really impressed. Do you suppose Lonnie, Jr. is still alive?
Thanks to you I now know more about the McCoys than I did.
|Valarie Vine||Buck Olaver|
I added a photo of his headstone today. I notice that the birth year says 1889 on the stone (which is not always accurate).

|Barbra S Miller- Meek||Mary A Miller|
Hey Mary A Miller children is not correct She had a son named Thomas Allen Knight 1927-- She is buried in Indianapolis Foral Hill
|Kathy Phelan||Mabel Asher (McCoy)|
I think I found Mabel. There is a SS record for a Mabel Asher 01/18/1910 - 01/10/2005.
I suspect she and Uncle Lon never married. Mabel is not on Find A Grave, but if the record is correct she died at age 95 in the State of Washington.
We've talked before...you found the name Asher for me. What can I say.
|Kathy Phelan||Frank Asher|
I'm not sure you can help, but I'm trying to track down Mabel Asher, Frank's daughter.
Mabel may or may not have married my great uncle. It is a little difficult to determine if the marriage was legalized. He was Lonnie McCoy. Lonnie had 5 daughters by his first wife, but we're not sure he ever divorced her.
Mabel Asher was the mother of Lonnie Edward McCoy, Jr. who may just be still alive but apparently not living in Phoenix.
What would help is a copy of Mabel's sister's obit as it might give some clue to Mabel's last name. The sister was Leila Mayfield Asher Heard (11/19/1903 - 04/11/1959). Should be easy to find since she was murdered by her husband, William Guy Heard - murder/suicide.
Uncle Lon died in 1949. Mabel may have remarried in that 10 year span.
Of course, I'm operating on the assumption that you live in Arizona. If not...I hope you enjoyed this tale.
|RidgePerson||Arnold Bowlin, Sr.|
Thank you for linking him to his father!
I log in to see if any changes have occurred. Are you sure Mabel's last husband was a Buck Olaver? O'Haver maybe. There are NO Olaver's on Find A Grave. Seems strange.
Lost a dear uncle last month. Sad. Keep in touch.
Oh...is Marie still with us?
