I grew up with searching cemeteries with my Mom and now my favorite pass time is working on family history. I discovered Find A Grave in October of 2010. What fantastic tool to help us continue our research and to help others.
hej Hej ive just been going through some old letter of my mums and found a newspaper cutting (1981)of one of my relitives but as i dont have so much more than old adress saw the notice of her daughter in and a picture that you have put in of her Marjorie Sharples.I wonder if i can be in touch with this branch of my family and know more of who i knew as aunty Norah i was christened at the mormon tabanacle in Doncaster as she was over in Uk when i was born.
Frank Asher I'm not sure you can help, but I'm trying to track down Mabel Asher, Frank's daughter.
Mabel may or may not have married my great uncle. It is a little difficult to determine if the marriage was legalized. He was Lonnie McCoy. Lonnie had 5 daughters by his first wife, but we're not sure he ever divorced her.
Mabel Asher was the mother of Lonnie Edward McCoy, Jr. who may just be still alive but apparently not living in Phoenix.
What would help is a copy of Mabel's sister's obit as it might give some clue to Mabel's last name. The sister was Leila Mayfield Asher Heard (11/19/1903 - 04/11/1959). Should be easy to find since she was murdered by her husband, William Guy Heard - murder/suicide.
Uncle Lon died in 1949. Mabel may have remarried in that 10 year span.
Of course, I'm operating on the assumption that you live in Arizona. If not...I hope you enjoyed this tale.
