Born in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. My father was born Crabb in Easton, Maine. His father was born in New Brunswick, Canada. The Crabbs are a Loyalist family coming to what is now New Brunswick from Westchester County, NY at the end of the Revolutionary War. My great grandmother, wife of her second cousin, William Henry Crabb, Jr. was Sarah Ann Kinney, daughter of John Shepherd Kinney, Sr. and his wife, Sarah Crabb. John Shepherd Kinney, Sr. was the son of Stephen Kinney and Merab Ives. Stephen Kinney was a son of Israel Kinney and Susannah Hood, a New Brunswick Planter family from Massachusetts in the 1760s.

My mother was a Merrill, the first of our line in Dover, Maine, about 1821, being True Merrill. Our whole line is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. My grandparents are Arthur Willis and Elva Louise (White) Merrill. His parents were Charles Lowe and Belzira Whitney (Bray) Merrill. He was the son of True and Sarah (Low) Merrill.
