Bio

I remember as a child walking with my mother on sunny summer days through very old cemeteries. We had no family there, it was just an interesting place to be. We would try to find the oldest stone, read the old and odd spellings, find the most interesting inscriptions, and speculate on the relationships and lives of the people who rested there.

"Gone but not forgotten" is a common epitaph and yet the majority of those who have gone before us are forgotten, lost in the catacombs of time. Some will be found by accidental exhumation others by intentional archeological digs, but relatively few will we know their names.

Sill there is a significant population of those who died before anyone's living memory began who are named and there are those who are remembered but who's final dwelling place has been lost. Now they can be found, can be connected to those who are seeking them.

Through Find A Grave questions are answered. The connections made are not just to the dead but to the living. Memories and photographs are shared, relationships discovered and bonds are forged. I am very pleased to be a small part of it.

Any cemetery photographs I have posted please feel free to use. Photo's of people please ask before using - I may not have the rights to the photo but only permission to use it.

Transfers will be considered. Send a message through Find A Graves message system or contact me directly at kat mccan @ gmail.com (remove the spaces first!)
