Grew up in California, but my maternal grandmother sent me books about South Carolina family history for birthday and Xmas gifts. Dad knew very little about his roots, just that he was Pennsylvania Dutch; he died when I was 16, so that part of my family story began from scratch.
Most of my kids were born in Australia, thus my global interest. Myrtle Beach, SC is now my abode, where I research mainly online — travel reconn, not so much. Brickwalled both ways and time's running out!
