I have been actively engaged in genealogy for over 30 years, intrigued when one of my father's cousins asked me a question which I could not answer. But long before then I had an interest in family history. I spent my childhood on the "old homestead" which one great-great grandfather settled in 1833 upon his arrival from County Tyrone in Ireland. As a child I read a mimeographed family history which circulated through the Carson family, and I lived surrounded by a host of cousins from the various lines of my mother's family.

Following my retirement as a pastor, and the subsequent death of my first wife, I have been able to devote more time to my explorations.

I participate in Find a Grave, not only for the genealogical information which many pages carry, but even more because I believe the site supports my conviction that every individual matters to the God who created us, and who extends his love to all who will accept it.
