Bio

I became a Find-A-Grave member after "accidentally" stumbling onto the website. I grew up near two cemeteries, and spent many hours in both of them as a child. I remember strolls with my grandmother, listening to stories about various people as we paused at their grave, including stories and legends she heard from her parents about people who had died long before her time. I can almost hear her voice reminding me "not to run in the cemetery" and "don't walk over the graves". I appreciate so much my upbringing in a Christian family. I was never taught that my relatives and loved ones are actually in the cemetery, so don't think of going there as "visiting them". Rather, I was very much taught from my earliest years about that great resurrection morning yet to come, and have always secretly hoped I might be at or near the cemetery when that trumpet sounds!

In summary, I really appreciate this website. I think it is a super way to be able to honor a person's memory (the e-candles, flowers, etc.) and leave notes, photos, etc. The best part is that it is completely free, and does not exist solely to make a profit! I am thankful to have found it! God Bless!
