I was born into the Kirby-Jones family where both of these grandparents graduated from Wichita State University although they came from Michigan and Oklahoma and were an unlikely pair. My Grandma resided in the famous Kirby Castle while going to college which is now torn down in Wichita, KS. She kept so many newspaper clippings and photos. My grandma handed down her scrapbooks to me and my love for ancestry took off during my college days in the 80's.

My paternal side is the Hickerson's from Harvey County area and Tulsa area where my Great Grandma Kerr is buried. Maggie Hazlett Owens Stevens Kerr.

I married a Kinder in 1985 in El Dorado, KS and they are all from Texas, Oklahoma or Goodland, KS.

Lastly...I took in a Black boy in 2007 and his heritage is Alford-which I have gladly tried to trace back his lineage as well. From Weleetka,Oklahoma to Wichita, KS. He currently plays for the Miami Dolphins.

I'm also closely attached to the youngest Reed son; from Colorado Springs where his grandpa Don Wilson and aunt Marian Wolfe developed the famous Flying W Ranch at the base of Pikes Peak. They had Chuckwagon Suppers there from 1953 til it burned down in 2012.
