I am a 6th generation Colorado resident. My gg grandfather, Johannes "John" Bender, came out to Colorado from Wisconsin in 1859. Around 1872, his mother-in-law, my ggg grandmother, Hannah Hammond, left Wisconsin to join her daughter and John in Freshwater, Park Co., Colorado.
