I am retired military and moved to Billings Mt. in 1999. Since that time we have both worked here and I now work for USPS. I have been doing family tree research for both sides of our family since Dec. 2010 and have found findAgrave very helpful in not only putting headstones with those family members that don't have pictures but also with research of family name spelling changes. I use the headstones as the best source of last names. I love traveling around Montana in my spare time to help find headstones of loved ones that people are looking for.

Shirley Riedl Memorial #140895386
Would you possibly be able to post the grave stone on Shirley Riedl Memorial to her husband, Cornelius Riedl Memorial #167060057? Thank you so much.

Last news on QUINN
Jim...
Folks at the funeral home kindly responded to my query about James McGranor Quinn:
Jennifer Aksamit
Funeral Director

Dahl Funeral Chapel
10 Yellowstone Ave.
Billings, MT 59101
(406)248-8807 - office
(406)259-2879 - fax

She says her file shows a "private inurnment" and no burial site. At least we won't imagine we might find a headstone someday. I'll enter James in Findagrave, for the benefit of other researchers and so his folks will have all their children noted.

Thanks again for all you did to help me on this project.

RE: Quinn - Good news
Jim...
Thanks for the Windows 10 sympathy. Nice to know I'm not alone. Have figured out that everything we used to call My Documents, My Pictures, etc have new names and they are in Libraries. I can find libraries on that odd looking start up thing called Desktop. The old start up facility was so useful and one could open Word and Excel from programs pinned there. Now, I can't find either one and still have such trouble saving a .jpg file like you sent me for James McGranor Quinn. Of course, I want to save it to my tree and the computer says yes, you can save it if you can find it! Why in the world did Microsoft think this wholesale change of software would be helpful to us? I know the answer of course, they absolutely must get more advertising in front of Windows users. It's all about the money and to heck with the folks like us who aren't in the purchasing demographic anymore. We just must find a way to make it work and I know we will.

You are so great to do this!!!! I know I posted one of the grave AFTER I requested one on Find A Grave. I apologize that I did not delete my request. His nephew is now the owner and he will have to decide as he is the one who gave me the grave in the snow.

You are absolutely a god send to us on Find A Grave and I really appreciate ALL that you do!!

RE: Quinn - Good news
Sorry for the delay, Jim. I did most certainly receive that lovely obit. Copy was clear as a bell and I thank you very much again. I am wrestling with a conversion from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and now all of a sudden I don't have a Start menu nor seemingly any way to save .jpg or create .doc in Word. Makes me crazy that these big companies only want to make life complicated (and make it easier to sell us something). I ordered a Kindle last year and it arrived without a word of instructions! It too displays advertising as a first priority. Now Windows 10 arrives too without any explanation as to where they managed to put my most valuable data. Other than that, it is a great world! Ha. Especially with people like you in it -- doing great favors for others. Sure hope I can repay you someday.

Wow, Jim...a miracle! Thanks a million. Be sure to tell me how you worked this magic so I will know next time. I'm a contributor to Findagrave (#46548355) and I have just the one email address lfkestner3@msn.com

Please, if ever I can do something for you in Southern Oregon, give me the chance to repay your kindness. Thank you.

Quinn - Good news
Jim...
Found Marjorie Quinn Ward's obit -- Googled and up came 2009 obit in Billings Gazette. Her sister, Donna Turner, is apparently still living in Billings. Donna's husband was Paul and died before 2009. Marjorie's obit didn't mention a burial so it just may not be a family tradition. Anyway, before you go to much more trouble, I'm content to think James McGranor Quinn has a lovely and long-lived family! Your interest inspired me to look further. Thank you.
