Jim and Sue Carnathan I am retired military and moved to Billings Mt. in 1999. Since that time we have both worked here and I now work for USPS. I have been doing family tree research for both sides of our family since Dec. 2010 and have found findAgrave very helpful in not only putting headstones with those family members that don't have pictures but also with research of family name spelling changes. I use the headstones as the best source of last names. I love traveling around Montana in my spare time to help find headstones of loved ones that people are looking for.
RE: re: #38328701 Phoenix Paul Black in Riverside Cemetery in Billings. They really did a lot of work on the cemetery here the past few years. They re-leveled the ground and took out all of the stone markers and laid temporary funeral home type markers. I know that you've noticed that Find A Grave has a glitch that often, when you upload a picture, it will put 2 or 3 pictures of the same picture on the memorial. I have had it happen to me several times. Anyway, on this memorial #38328701, you have 3 pictures of the temporary funeral home marker. You must have taken the picture, when the cemetery was being repaired. Well, note that further down in the list of pictures, there is a picture of his real stone grave marker, so the temporary marker picture is not needed. I hope that I explained it better. Sorry about the confusion. I thought with the memorial number, you'd easily find out what I was referring too. Anyway ... hope this clears it up. I am quite familiar with the great work you do, and I knew that you'd want to know of the GLITCH and the 3 identical pictures. Thanks and God bless ...
re: #38328701 And ... forgot to tell you that there are photos of a real stone ... already on the site. They moved the stones to work on the cemetery ... and put down temporary markers in the meantime ... but then they replaced the stones ... with their actual burial stones. So ... the temporary plaques from the funeral home ... was only a temporary situation. So ... all three funeral home plaques should be removed from the site. I knew you'd want to know. Thanks!
Delores Bauer Thank you very much for sending me the photo of my Aunt's headstone hopefully someday i can travel there to see it in person. Its really a great thing that we can see these without having to travel there. For those who have health problems and can't travel, its really great. I have wanted to go there for many years now to see my uncles grave. We weren't sure where it was at until the last couple years. Now that my aunt is also there i will try to get there this summer. I still have the baseball bat that my uncle gave me when i was very young so this means allot to me.
