I am just trying to fill in my family tree with any and all information I can get my hands on. I am a transplant to my current area of Clinton County, Indiana but if I can be of help to someone out there that wants a gravestone photo, I would be thrilled to help out! My husband and I do the best we can to get good pictures whenever we can.
Any pictures I submit to any memorials are available for your use. Feel free to copy and save them for your own use. I see no point in putting pictures here that can't be used for your tree so, please, use the pictures for your family tree where ever it may be!
RE: Mary Virginia Law Very distant relation. We are leaves on different branches on the same Law tree of Lewis County. In addition to taking photos of gravestones near my home in NJ, I have looked through the online death records of WV, hoping to be able to make a memorial and add any info I can find from ancestry.com to help others link their families together. Are you related to the Laws in any way? Thanks again for telling me about the duplicate. Mary
RE: Joseph and William Walker obits I checked the 1910-19 book for Walkers. There are only two listed - both buried at Broad Run Cem. I'm sending them to you and if a memorial exists, you may add it to the memorial (or post a new one if you like):
MRS. CAROLINE WALKER wife of Dr. Walker of Jane Lew, died at her home on Sunday, 50 years of age. Besides her husband, three children, two sisters and one brother survive. The brother, Washington Brown, is of Broad Run. Funeral was held Tues. at Broad Run Baptist Church, interment in church cemetery. (The Weston Democrat, Fri 17 Nov 1911)
MRS. ELIZABETH WALKER aged 94, died at the home of a relative near Jane Lew Friday. Widow of late Joseph Walker, and leaves a son, Joseph Walker, a son Bury Walker of Topeka, KS, a daughter, Mrs. Alonzo Flesher of Pennsboro. Services on Sunday, burial at Broad Run cemetery. (The Weston Independent Tues 6 May 1919) 2nd article - Thursday, Apr. 10th, marked the birthday of Mrs. Elizabeth Walker at the home on Broad Run. (The Weston Independent Tues, 22 Apr 1919)
RE: Joseph and William Walker obits Thanks for adding my obits. I'm not related. I purchased this book several years ago and just noticed it again and realized it would be a good thing to add the obits in cases where it told the place of burial or I could locate a memorial for it on Find A Grave.
The book was purchased I think from maybe Hacker's Creek Journal folks or one of the Lewis or Upshur Co., WV historical societies. Two people had worked together to copy them from microfilm located at the WV University. The one I just finished was obits from 1900-1909. I also have 1910-19 but it's going to be quite a while before I can start adding obits from it.
