Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started doing genealogy back in the early 1980's, researching the Jewett (my mothers' maiden name) Family in the Wright County, Minnesota area. That was back before the computer, when it was door to door, phone calls, or US mail. I gathered 18 notebooks full of information and now am slowly getting that information listed on Ancestry.com.
I started back on my family research in February 2011 after retiring in January of that year.
Unfortunatly, most of the people I talked to back in the 1980's can now only be found on Find A Grave.
To any of you doing family research, I suggest you get to the oldest family members first and get as much information as you can before it is lost to time. Some of their stories (not always true) are interesting and more importantly, informative to your research.
Since starting back up this year, I have made some awesome discoveries thanks to the web. Lots of it I would have never found had it not been for the internet.
Find A Grave is an awesome site, people helping people. I can't say enough good things about it.
I live near the little town of Nimrod, Minnesota in Wadena County located in west central Minnesota. I used to travel the whole northeastern part of the state in my work and drove past many cemeteries, not ever knowing what I was missing out on. Maybe that's a good thing, I would have never got my work done!
To all of you who have helped me, I thank you sincerely and will do my best to help as many folks as I can in their research.
If you are interested in a transfer on any of the graves I have entered, I will gladly do a transfer as long as they aren't in my family line. It does not matter to me how distantly they are related to you, if they tie in to your lines somewhere down the road, I'll gladly transfer them.

You may use them on Ancestry.com, please be nice and give credit.

PLEASE USE EDIT TAB ON MEMORIAL FOR REQUESTING TRANSFERS!!!

I am working on several cemeteries trying to fill in as much information as possible and trying to make as many links as possible. I therefore am sending out a lot of correction requests. If you don't want, or don't know how to make the corrections, please just transfer the memorial to me with a note you want it back and I will make the corrections and additions and transfer it back to you.

I have removed the pictures as you requested. I took those pictures and added them because someone had requested them.

RE: Faye Dawn

I'm sorry, I do not have any data for you. And, I do not know how they fit into my family tree.

Faye Dawn "Punky" Odland

Thank you for photographing Faye' grave marker and adding it onto her memorial page, as well as many other Odlands.

Do you have grave marker photos for 2 more Odland memorials in the same cemetery?

Robert Ron Odland (#148340861)

and

Laurie Lee (Odland) Skaro (#102432992).

Memorial updates
Hello Jim;
You have been so very busy on Find A Grave as usual!!! Thanks, bunches, for the updates to several of "my" memorials. The additions put added "flesh to the bones" of the memorials, so to speak, for many families out there. Your work is wonderful.
Thanks again! Grace A.

Because I sent in edits for the above Find A Grave #, I want you know that I am related. Her sister was my paternal grandmother.

Thank you.
This is interesting. George Presler was a brother to my Grandmother's father, Fred. Mina was 8 years older than my Grandmother. I wonder whether something happened that Mina was raised as a sister to my Grandmother. Both Mina and my Grandmother are buried at Washington township cemetery in Duncombe, Iowa. An interesting side note on the Presler children. Several of Fred's siblings were caught in a blizzard near Fairmont, MN in 1866. I believe one or two sisters froze to death and 2 brothers lost limbs due to frostbite. There is a picture of Francis Presler with no legs with his brother on the Washington township cemetery find a grave site. I have a newspaper article on this ordeal somewhere in my genealogy papers. Fred was born 9 months after this blizzard. Thank you again for this information.

Thank you so much for your continuing efforts.

No, I don't know if Faye (Odland) Skaro has a marker or not.
