Interested in graves of near and sometimes more distant family and a few very close friends. My husband's family is at Mountain View in Oakland; mine at Belmont in Fresno, Mountain View in Oregon City, Oregon, and generations before are in Wright County, Missouri and Clinton and Essex Counties, New York, with scattered connections in New England, Midwest and South.

I believe Find-A-Grave can be a really good tool to help genealogists -- especially to interest new researchers or very young ones.

If you find a relative that I've listed, and believe there's an error -- dates or locations --or if you have some interesting information to add in the biography section, please contact me. I've taken information from a variety of sources. Sometimes even obituaries are less than perfectly accurate.

You are so welcome and I know you can add more value to his page than I can. If I have other pages out west that you want to manage, just ask. I'm not related to most of the memorial pages I manage. I just love to add records and information for others to find.

Posted a total of three photos for the marker. Please pick the one you think is the best and delete the others. If you want I will email it to you, so you can experiment with it.

Knew it was not a clear photo, but it was a start. Will try to get back out there this week to get a clearer photo.

Posted a marker photo for your request. It was taken in Feb. of 2014 and could be better; sometimes the weather does not help at all. If you would like another shot the location is easy to pinpoint since I included a tree and fence. Let me know.

RE: Samuel Slemmons Melvin
Hi - yes, I think I had some type of correspondence with you a couple years back over this family, as the story of everyone wanting to sit on Mary's lap sounds familiar. I imagine you didn't see Samuel's other memorial since it is burial "unknown". I hope that you can get that one deleted or at least merged to yours since you have him in the correct place. No problem with you using the obituary - would hate that it got deleted if the other one is zapped. Thanks for your note!
