Bio Photo Don't let the picture fool you. It was taken in 1959 for Senior Picture Day!

In 1974 as a family, we started doing research on "Daddy's" side (all Cowles in USA are related - easy). Yes, I'm a Yankee, and all my family is up North, and I'm here in southwest Virginia. So, I'm trying to help the folks who aren't here, or who can't go to where their love ones are buried. I'VE MOVED BACK TO INDIANA AND AM LIVING IN STARKE COUNTY INDIANA (as of January 2013).

Because I don't drive anymore, I depend on my eldest daughter to aid me in grocery shopping, doctor's visit, etc. AND TOMBSTONING (that's what I call it)!

If anyone wants a memorial transfered to them, please let me know. You don't have to "prove it" like I see some people want you to do. Just let me know, and it'll be in your care!

I just saw a "blanket" permission by another graver to use his photos. Good may use any I took AND use any I entered of people as well IF you'll give the credit line "PROVIDED BY" as I do. Remember all the photos I have added may not be mine. Please double check before entering the name of the provider. Thanks

Mary Jane Babcock Smith was the sister of my great grandfather Henry Truman Babcock of Denver Twp., Newaygo Co., MI and Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI.
where he is buried.
Please see my work in Find A Grave. on them:

RE: DeLorge Family @ Holy Cross Cemetery in Marine City
Hi Dear One - Wow - I'm so sorry this happened Margaret. I suspected from a past conversation (I probably got "Judy" also) that family should call in increments to get the plot nos. and things would go better when you identified yourself as "family" instead of giving a long list. Much of the remaining cemetery is either unmarked or faded headstones & monuments and fairly large, so plots are necessary to find any headstones. I'm wondering if "Judy" wanted her palm crossed with gold & silver ! Sometimes, this is what these Catholic Churches want or she might just be "lazy." If I speak with her again, I will be more firm and insist that it is Michigan LAW to devulge family info records within 10 days. If you feel up to it before spring, try this approach. I appreciate all of your efforts & undertaking in Canada - not an easy area to explore over the border ! Many Blessings to you Dearest One - you are a Wonderful Friend. I'm doing my "homework" for the winter and gathering many lists at several cemeteries with plot nos. so I can hunt for headstones in the spring thaw. Some cemeteries, I'm able to do now that are well marked.

Alf's marker
Good morning. Alf's marker had flowers leaning against it and was slightly stained. I used a brush that I carry in my truck but wasn't able to remove all of it. I'm reluctant to use a cleaner without the advice of the cemetery. Hope this will do for now. Thanks.

RE: McDowell Cemetery

You are welcome Margaret. I don't like those time stamps either. The photos look much nicer without it.

RE: Holy Hope Cemtery in Tucson
Addl pics have been posted for the Caruanas'.

Holy Hope Cemetery isn't very picturesque--neither the grounds or the mausoleum. Even tho the sun is shining, it is difficult to get half decent pics as either too much shadow or too much light!

Hello Margaret,

It turns out that Enoch Massecar is not on lot 268 as listed in the
book. He is beside his daughter Edith, who is beside her mother on
AD II-23. I posted his stone photo to his memorial and photos of the
stone of Edith to hers as well as the perspective photos

And yes, to the Cowles relationships
Yes Margaret,

My husband, Eugene Briggs is somehow connected to the Cowles family on his mother Church family side. He died last January. He was a great guy.
