In 1974 as a family, we started doing research on "Daddy's" side (all Cowles in USA are related - easy). Yes, I'm a Yankee, and all my family is up North, and I'm here in southwest Virginia. So, I'm trying to help the folks who aren't here, or who can't go to where their love ones are buried. I'VE MOVED BACK TO INDIANA AND AM LIVING IN STARKE COUNTY INDIANA (as of January 2013).|
Because I don't drive anymore, I depend on my eldest daughter to aid me in grocery shopping, doctor's visit, etc. AND TOMBSTONING (that's what I call it)!
If anyone wants a memorial transferred to them, please let me know. You don't have to "prove it" like I see some people want you to do. Just let me know, and it'll be in your care!
I just saw a "blanket" permission by another graver to use his photos. Good idea...you may use any I took AND use any I entered of people as well IF you'll give the credit line "PROVIDED BY" as I do. Remember all the photos I have added may not be mine. Please double check before entering the name of the provider. Thanks
I HAVE REMOVED MY E-ADDRESS FROM THIS SITE BECAUSE I'VE BEEN HACKED - SORRY! But I'm still active, alive and well. Please just post a message, and I will get it done.

Sounds like we could be from the same family. LOL! I like having the same birthday 3 years in a row. I think I'll see if that will fly with my family as my birthday is on the 4th of July.
Thanks for the laughs! I needed that. I just found out this morning that my cancer has spread into my bones with spine, ribs and hip involvement. So I'm feeling sucker punched today.

You would think you could trust what was written on the headstone, because who in their right mind would pay for something misspelled or wrong date? My hand is up waving because that's what my family did. My dad's mom was so vain and lied so much about her age to be younger that her own kids didn't know when she was born. When I got her birth records from Tennessee I found out she was 3 years older than anyone knew and Grandma was outed years after she went into the ground. She never envisioned the internet and the speed with which we can obtain records today, and she must have thought her secrets would go to the grave with her. Some secrets you have to dig up with a backhoe, but not this one. We were all astounded that no one knew how old grandma was. So much for honesty and communication in my family. LOL!

I don't know where Margaret is buried. We couldn't find a headstone for Margaret in the Baljennie cemetery, so either she is unmarked or buried elsewhere. Maybe in another local cemetery or perhaps in Port Alberni, B.C. where her daughter went? My largest source of knowledge for the Lachman family is from Baljennie Reaches Far (a local history available on Our Roots Nos Racines website) p.37 article entitled "Abe and Margaret Lachman submitted by Lucille Surry." An obituary would likely give the place of burial; the likeliest newspaper would be the North Battleford News Optimist.
|Jean ||Charles Babcock|
Went to the Historical Society in Adams. Death notice for Charles says in Oil City Pa. Aug 9 Charles A. Babcock age 73 years formerly of Adams. While looking in the file I copied a few obits. Someone had a five pages of names on the Babcock family. Can scan and send to you if you want the info. firstname.lastname@example.org

You are welcome Margaret. I don't like those time stamps either. The photos look much nicer without it.

|Linda ||RE: Holy Hope Cemtery in Tucson|
Addl pics have been posted for the Caruanas'.
Holy Hope Cemetery isn't very picturesque--neither the grounds or the mausoleum. Even tho the sun is shining, it is difficult to get half decent pics as either too much shadow or too much light!

|Paul Sutton Kamalsky||Massecar|
It turns out that Enoch Massecar is not on lot 268 as listed in the
book. He is beside his daughter Edith, who is beside her mother on
AD II-23. I posted his stone photo to his memorial and photos of the
stone of Edith to hers as well as the perspective photos

I'm happy to help out. If I can do anything else to help with, let me know.
|Mary Briggs||And yes, to the Cowles relationships|
My husband, Eugene Briggs is somehow connected to the Cowles family on his mother Church family side. He died last January. He was a great guy.
