I am very interested in genealogy and especially cemeteries. I will be willing to take photos of any cemetery in & near Duluth, MN, Superior, WI and all of Douglas County, Wisconsin when I am there in the summers. In the winter I am in the Southeast Valley by Apache Junction, Arizona if you have any requests from that area. Feel free to use any of my photos I have taken of graves and share with others. It would be nice to get credit for the photo but it isn't necessary. I don't think this site should be a race to see how many people you can put on here. That is just my opinion. Thanks to all of you who volunteer and have helped me with my family searches. I will help you if I can! |

Hello there: yes, that is my husbands family line and I would love to have a copy of Williams obit. Are you tied into this family too.I sent you a personal email so you would have my email in your email system too. mine is firstname.lastname@example.org
I have so many more photos to upload here, just not finding enough hours in the week to settle down and get it done yet.
Thank you for the Bergin obituary. Appreciated.

You're welcome. I transcribe obits for my family tree or memorials I manage. There are too many obit images out there.

Oh my goodness! Really? Their daughter Florence was my maternal grandmother. Yes, they're Finnish, and were raised on a farm in Marengo. I myself was born and raised in Ashland. I knew my great-aunts Millie (THOMPSON) and Mabel (MIKKONEN, later GUSKI), but never met any of the other siblings. I just heard reams of stories from my grandmother about them and life on the farm.
I've never been able to accurately determine Sophie's maiden name (one sister spelled it Sonnenberg, the other, Sundberg). Do you know? I can't even find if Sophie's name is actually Sofia or Sophie. Or what the "K" in Matt's name stood for. There's SO much I'd like to know!
Matt was apparently married previously, to a woman named Mary S. Thompson, in Michigan. That's why there are two sisters named Hilma. Mary bore one, Sophie bore the other.
Here's Mabel's FindAGrave link:
Thank you for the offer, but I did already copy both Matt and Sophie's obits.
Wow, I'm so excited!

Sorry about the blank below. I added a gravestone photo but it ended up on second page, you may wish to move it up (click on photo to see this option).
Thank you for the request. Stephen

Hi Janine. Are you by chance related to Matt or Sophie Thompson? I ask because you've posted newspaper clippings about their passings. They're my maternal great-grandparents. (I'm from Ashland, WI.) Thanks! Both for the clippings and for your anticipated reply!
