Bio and Links
Bio Photo Lifelong resident of northeastern Illinois, I enjoy visiting the cemeteries and searching out headstones, photographing and posting them and trying to weave the links together of other family members in that cemetery or other ones nearby, so that other researchers can utilize my findings. My areas of particular interest are Lake County (where my family started off in this country), DuPage, Kane, DeKalb and Kendall counties, and also Morgan and Scott counties in southern Illinois. I'll also sometimes go out of my "comfort zone" if it's something that looks intriguing.
I try to arrange my photo expeditions according to my schedule and by areas, and of course by weather conditions. I only claim photo requests that I can absolutely fulfill, and try to fulfill them as promptly as possible.
As always, if you'd like to copy a photo, ask permission first in order to let me know how and where it's going to be used, and credit my work. Other than that, I'm happy to help you out in whatever way possible, just contact me.

RE: Swan Julius Swanson
Now we are getting somewhere. Yes, I do know how many Swansons are married to a Ruth. About as many as August Swansons - ha. So your Swan Julius was married to Ruth Zanders. Correct. I know that this Swan was not married to Ruth Cleveland Herrington Swanson.

Swan Julius Swanson
Good Morning, Something is bothering me about Swan and Ruth. I pulled up the Medical Certificate of Death for Swan Julius Swanson with the same dates as on the memorial and it indicates that he was buried in Fairview Cemetery in De Kalb County. Surely there cannot be two persons with the same name and dates of birth and death. What do you think? What bothered me to begin with was the ages on census records. They never quite matched. This report list his parents as Julius and Carolina Carlson with a son Robert Swanson, Malta, IL.

RE: Sarah Potter Wheeler Minard
Actually I did some research on it and she was at first in the Jacksonville hospital before Elgin was built, then after Ira died was in the one with Dr Patterson the same one Mary Lincoln was in, I researched that one too. Seems a sad story, am sure are two sides, why did her siblings and mom not help her? or her children? Thanks not sure that is the same hs there is one with inscription on it that I could not read will have to look it up.

Thanks

Ruth Swanson
Sorry about two entries. Thank you for your invaluable information. Doug checked his files and agreed that this was not our Ruth. He transferred to me so that I could change. Zanders was Ruth's maiden name. She and Swan had two children. Then she moved back home with her family for what reason I do not know. Perhaps they got back together a bit later. Just one more question - did the dates come from the 3x5 also?
Thanks again.

RE: Swan Julius Swanson
Good Morning. Thank you for checking into this for me. I knew that this could not be Ruth Emery as Doug indicated. My Ruth married a Roy Otto Swanson. I can't find where Roy is buried but he died in Chicago and you know how big that is.
Regardless, thank you so much.

Swan Julius Swanson
Hi, I am finding conflicting info about who was married to Swan. Could you please tell me if Ruth Cleveland Herrington's name was on any information that you may have learned from about Swan. She is indicated as his spouse on Find A Grave.
Thank you for your help in clearing up this matter. Shirley
