I like to make researches about forgotten people I met while walking along the streets of my region ( Champagne in France) or in cemeteries.|
Some streets are named after unkno people nowadays though they were very famous when they lived.
For instance, Napoléon Ambroise Cotte professeur 1813-1880 in Troyes.
Looking after informations about his life I found his son Jules Léon Cottet who went to the USA to join an Icarian community in Nauvoo<<<<<<<;
You may see on my blogs some of my works.

Thank you for your message on Pierre Roine, my great, great, great grandfather.. This information fits and you have added information which I did not have. August was his brother, entered through New Orleans.
I appreciate this information.

Thank you for the information. I have posted it to her memorial page. I am not related, I just walked that cemetery. There are mostly nuns of the School Sister of Notre Dame. There are just a small group of lay persons buried at this convent cemetery.

Sorry, I am not connected to the descendants of the Ulmers. I do have a connection a few generations back to a Strohl which may have a connection to them.

Ok, I understand now what you want. I went out to the cemetery yesterday and looked at the stone, hoping to be able to read it in person. The inscription is more worn than ever and I had no success being able to read the inscription. I'll study it again sometime when I am out there next.

My ancestor was Pierre Roine from Nantes, France I am trying to link him to Jules Edwouard Roine famous artist in the late 1800's
I have a very old lithograph of a building in Nantes France and I found a Roine' who made playing cards (Alouette) The building is decorated with the four deck symbols, Heart, club, spade and diamond - This lithograph is from the mid 1800's and I treasure it.
Again, thank you for honoring M. Cabet.
