Bio

I started working on my family tree in 1978 when my mother got me involved in helping her do research. I am now retired and have more time to spend doing genealogy. About 13 years ago I discovered Find-A-Grave and have been hooked ever since.

My main focus is on the families of Valentine, Virnig, Faust, Maiette, Clourate, Swain, Roots, Jolley, Powell, Fairfax, Gillam and their extended families.

I also have extended roots in the founding families from Nantucket Island including, Swain, Barnard, Macy, Coffin, Gardner and Mills.

I find old cemeteries fascinating, every old cemetery has it's own unique personality, unlike new cemeteries that are laid out in neat little rows with flat headstones.
So much family history can be found in old cemeteries.
Every grave has a story behind it and a story to tell.

Feel free to use any photos that I have posted, for non commercial use only. (Your personal family trees and Ancestry.com are OK)

I was very fortunate to have many family photos passed along to me, I have posted family photos to share with extended family members that were not fortunate enough to have these photos.

Feel free to use and copy "Family Photos", I have posted them to share with extended family members.

Please use the EDIT TAB on each individual page when requesting changes, additions, links, or transfers.

I will gladly transfer any memorial that is not part of my family.

Please do not make duplicate memorial pages!

Duplicate pages really mess up the linking process!

Search the name you are looking for before making a page, if the page already exists request a transfer!
