I have been researching my family history for 10+ years. Family names I am researching are:|
St. Cin, Lanius, Spinks, Campbell, Compton, Reeves, Baker, Berkel, Fisher and many other related.
I enjoy going to the cemeteries. I like to be able to place flowers on the graves of people who have passed on. So many of these graves have been lost and or forgotten. I feel it is a blessing if I can help even a small few people find their lost loved ones.
I also like to imagine how and where people lived, some so very long ago.
IF YOU SEND ME A CORRECTION FOR ONE OF MY MEMORIALS, AND I HAVE NO WAY TO CONTACT YOU, YOUR CORRECTIONS MAY NOT BE MADE. SORRY.

I was wondering if you know if their possibly might be a headstone for Michael Crowder, father of James E Crowder, was bushwhacked c1860 on Sinkin Creek during the Civil War & is buried on a hill near the Delmar Cemetery - he married Re. Not sure who might have added this note to the memorial. I have not been able to find Michael Crowder in any particular cemetery. Just wondered if you would know any other information regarding Michael Crowder. Appreciate any input you might have or if you have any suggestions. Thank you for all your hard work here on Find A Grave.

After a long time I am starting to figure out how to post memorials on Find a Grave. I found Emma's husband my great grandfather and his second wife are buried at Laurel Hill Gardens in Pagedale and the graves are very well kept. Thank you so much. I now have the hardest memorials to write and that is of my parents. Thank you so much for all your work!

Good Day Diana,
I am Susan Geiger and I am researching my Martin/Baker family circa 1850-1860. I know that my GG GM was Elizabeth Baker daughter of Elijah Baker and that she was married to John Martin, but cannot find out anything solid about him. There is a John Martin owning land next to Elijah Baker and a William Martin so I am assuming that is him. I found out from another researcher that she died in childbirth in 1866 not 1886 as it says on Ancestry.This is borne out by the fact that in the 1870 census he is remarried and his younger children are with him. Elizabeths' sister Lucy Catherine Baker married Nathan Green Reeves. Her son Albert Green Reeves married Elizabeth & John Martin's Grandaughter Matilda "Tilda" Bailey. Neither John or Elizabeth are buried in the Baker family cemetary in Elmont, Mo (that I can tell from find a grave) I cannot find where either of them are buried or his date of death. Do you know or have you seen graves with death dates for either of them? Thank you very much for your time! Best, Susan Geiger
|David Schwieder||Charles "Uncle Charlie" H. Lay|
I'm interested in learning about your memorial to Charles "Uncle Charlie" H. Lay (#97978091). Specifically the inscription "Uncle Charlie". The headstone in the photo has the inscription Charles H Lay. Charles Lay is my Great Great Grandfather. I have a family photo of a large group of people with the handwriting on the back "Uncle Charlie and a cast of thousands". I'm not sure who is in this group photo (circa 1910), but If Charles Lay was known as "Uncle Charlie", I guess that's a good hint. Did you add "Uncle Charlie"?
|Marcy Hammers||Cemetery photos|
Hi Diana, This is Marcy Hammers. I was wondering if you have been to the Cherry Valley Cemetery in Crawford County recently to take pictures? I am going to try to come down before the weather gets bad & go to some of the cemeteries that people are asking for photos plus do a little photography for myself. Hope to hear from you soon. I will be out of the loop for a least a few weeks the beginning of November.
