Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family history for 10+ years. Family names I am researching are:
St. Cin, Lanius, Spinks, Campbell, Compton, Reeves, Baker, Berkel, Fisher and many other related.
I enjoy going to the cemeteries. I like to be able to place flowers on the graves of people who have passed on. So many of these graves have been lost and or forgotten. I feel it is a blessing if I can help even a small few people find their lost loved ones.
I also like to imagine how and where people lived, some so very long ago.

I know 3 excellent guidelines for interacting with other people.

"Assume good faith."
"Use good manners."
"Don't bite the newcomers."

Your Salle line
I just saw your FamilySearch and FindAGrave entries about Jean Denys Salle.
I also have several Jean Salles from that area! I realize Jean is a common name, but that far back, there must be a connection!
Here is what my aunt has found out so far:
We have a
John Salle (must be a Jean) Salle, born in Courteil, paroisse De Moug, Poitou, France;

son, Jean Salle, b. abt 1600 in St. Martin, La Rocheelle, Ile de Re

son Jean Salle II, b. 23/3/1624 or 25 in Ile de Re, m. April 11 1668,
d. abt 1681

son Abraham Salle, b. 22/ 2/1673 or 74 in St Martin, m. in St Catherines. d. kin Manakin Town, Henrico Co, VA

I have several more generations, but wanted to send this much to see if perhaps somehow we connect.

Minnie Vaughn and her husbands Henry and Albert
Hello Diana,

My name is Marshall and I have submitted some edits to connect my 2nd-great-aunt Minnie Ellen (Bruner) Vaughn (#88146460) with her second and third husbands, Henry Berry Vaughn (#88146452) and Albert Mitchell Vaughn (#88146458). They were brothers. She was not their first wife. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration.

If you are looking for evidence for these changes, please see the following:
D/C: Minnie Ellen Vaughn (mentions her husband Albert Vaughn):
D/C Henry Berry Vaughn (mentions his wife is Minnie "Zink" Vaughn):
Marriage records are on file for the following couples in Crawford Co:
Henry B Vaughan to Miss Myrtle Roberts, 7 Jan 1912
Albert M Vaughan to Miss Belle King, 16 Mar 1913

Please contact Cindy who has added info to my memorial. Then notify me that you have worked with her and then I will remove my memorial. I tried to avoid duplication when I added from the cemetery book, but obviously I missed this one. Sorry. Mary

Black Cemetery
Hi Diana, I was planning to go to Black MO for vacation in November. I came across your listings for 35 people in the cemetery with no photos. I was going to take the photos while I was there, however, I found a listing of Black River Cemetery which had the same names with photos. So now I am confused. Could you tell me what's up with this? I am new at this thing and not sure I quite understand. Thanks for your patience.

Would you happen to have the complete obituary for Oscar Williams [or a source for it]? I got his death certificate and news articles about his car accident, but his wife Ida Sing is whom I'm interested in.
Thank you.

RE: Uncle Bill Gruel
Hi Diana

I'm very glad to be in touch with you. I was quite fond of Uncle Bill and Aunt Minnie. They were such kind people. I also knew (as an infant and toddler) Aunt Minnie's family, the Meyers. I have, in a scrapbook my mother made for me at the time, greeting cards from "Grandma Meyer" and her mother-in-law, "Little Grandma Meyer". Bob Berkel was a childhood friend of my late mother, and they renewed contact in later years when he was a patient at St. Joe's Hospital in Kirkwood, MO, where she was a nurse.

How are you related to Chuck Berkel and Cathy Wymer? Is that your husband and sister-in-law? I talked to each of them briefly on the phone many years ago.

I have other photos to share with you, and would enjoy talking with you. I live in Indiana; my number is 812-967-5386.

Demarcus Walker
Hi Diana, I'm a direct descendent of Demarcus and Mary Ann - have been working on this family since the 1970s. Demarcus is listed in the 1870 census and may not have died for several years. I was told that the markers had been removed from this cemetery (might disclose additional information.) Oh well. Am still looking and have found Demarcus and Mary Ann as far back as 1800 in North Carolina census records. Their son Francis Marion Walker is my g-g-grandfather, his son John Wesley Walker is my g-grandfather, and his youngest daughter (2nd marriage) is Roxie Ann Walker Clark. My email is Would love to hear from you.
